No KOTOR for E3

Or anything else from LucasArts for that matter...
LucasArts looks like it won't be unveiling any new games at next month's E3, if comments from its director of public relations are anything to go by.

There's been a lot of talk recently about layoffs within the company and projects that may or may not have been canned. Bring yourself up to speed here.

According to a Venturebeat report: "LucasArts is currently developing a number of obvious sequels in its Star Wars game franchises. These titles include Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3, which is allegedly in co-development at BioWare, and Star Wars Battlefront 3, which is rumoured to be in development at Free Radical. There's also supposedly another LEGO Indiana Jones game in the works at TT Games, which makes sense given the back-to-back LEGO Star Wars releases and strong sales and critical acclaim those games earned."

In response to the report the firm's PR director wouldn't comment on any unannounced titles, but she did say that E3 won't be used to announce any new games. Apparently "there's too much noise surrounding the show".

If the stuff's pre-alpha or just not ready then fine don't show some "dogs dinner" at E3...some quality devs mentioned there so a s**te, rushed demo will only do more damage than good!

LucasArts is being hideously corrupted by unscrupulous management. Lucas needs to stop being so hands off and look at what his company is being maligned into it.

i wish they would just officially announce it. just have some pr bloke come on stage and say yes we are officially working on KOTOR3 and Batlefront 3. They are both gonna be utterly amazing and they will be out 09 or something.

i dont want a demo in game footage or even a screenshot just somene telling me i can start getting excited now!

Ok, no new stuff.

What about Indy then?

I was going to say the same thing. Just confirmation of Battlefront 3 and Knights of the Old Republic 3 with formats and eta's would be good enough.

I would really love for them to come out and say the KOTOR will not be an MMO too. I just have a bad feeling that all the rumors are true.

PLZ PLZ PLZ make a battlefront 3, I think it would be amazing on the PS3.

I'd heard that Star Wars Battlefront 3 had been scrapped. I hope it is in development though cos i want that game really badly.

You mean Battlefront 3? Battlefield 3 is an EA game for pc only.
wudragon on 20 Jun '08
Hey LucasArts - Tie Fighter 2 or GTFO.

Srsly.
Max01 on 20 Jun '08
Technically there already is a TIE Fighter 2: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter.

Anyway, decided to rethink my earlier post Razz

A no show at E3 is bad for Lucas Arts on 2 levels that could save them.

Firstly, the customers. If there was a show or even confirmation of Battlefront 3 and/or KOTOR 3, not only would it instil confidence within Lucas Arts over hotly anticipated products - both games would have huge guaranteed sales. Especially because Battlefront 3 is multiplatform and KOTOR3 could be HUGE.

Secondly, if said games were showcased and anticipation was noticed - Lucas Arts could get some financial help from outside (given the reports of finance troubles) in terms of someone else distributing the title (ala EA and Valve).

I really don't want to see Lucas Arts go bust. They're a great developer, and from the Force Unleashed there looks like there some talent their - and great potential for future games.
