CD Project RED has confirmed the release date of The Witcher Enhanced Edition has finally been set.
The new version will hit British shelves in the first half of September. Fans should be overjoyed that at the top of the improvement list is a better English translation, so the dialogue might actually make sense this time around.
Alongside the game DVD, the enhanced edition will contain a 'making-of' DVD, a bonus materials DVD (containing the adventure editor and two official adventures), the game soundtrack and even a CD with music inspired by the game.
The icing on the cake has to be that all this new content will be available to existing Witcher players via the official website for absolutely nothing.
Take a look at the picture to the side for a picture of the Polish version. We expect the English edition to be pretty much the same.
I've been waiting for this for a while now. Shame it has been so long coming and that we have to wait a bit longer for it, but the Witcher, even with its rough edges, is a truly fantastic RPG, and I've been putting off finishing it until the enhanced edition is released.
I cant wait either!!!! I stoppped playing the standard one as soon as I heard about this!! I was only in chapter 2 I think, nothing far, so it'll be cool to see it proper now in all its glory ) Lots of proper english language upgrades and lots of new faces for the people will be great!!! )
But the $64M question is, will saved games from the original version work on the enhanced one? I too have suspended play until this thing comes out and will go nuts if I have to either start again or plough on with what I've already got.
I loved the original version of the Witcher so all these improvements will make it even more fantastic. Can't wait. I'm pleased that CD Projekt is taking their time though to get this version as good as possible.
