Titan acquires World of Warcraft rights

Graphic novel set to stun
Titan Books has obtained the rights from DC Comics to publish a graphical novel set in Azeroth in the UK and Ireland.

The book is written by Walt Simonson, who penned comics Elric and Orion if that means anything to you.

The story follows a human who is washed up on the shores of Kalimdor and is enslaved by orc shaman Rehgar Earthfury. Fingers crossed it will take a few liberties with the licence, as the idea of a comic book about level-grinding fills us with dread.

The book will be released on September 26 in a 'stylish and collectable' hardcore volume, priced £16.99. There you go.

This is simply a collection of issues 0 to 7 of the World of Warcraft comic series published by DC comics under their WildStorm label.

It is, aye. But it's only available over here via import, meaning a lot of people probably haven't had a chance to read it.

It's not bad actually, and all locations it goes to are instantly recognisable to WoW fans.
