Rock Band & Guitar Hero fight over Beatles

Deal breaking within weeks, says insider
Representatives of The Beatles estate are in talks with both Activision and MTV Games to include the band's back catalogue in either Rock Band or Guitar Hero.

The deal could be worth several million dollars and could be reached within a matter of weeks, according to a source for the Financial Times.

Back in March, we reported that a top executive at the music publishing company that owns the Lennon-McCartney copyrights said he'd be interested in a dedicated edition of Guitar Hero for the Beatles.

We're just going through our memory of what Beatles tracks we think would work in Guitar Hero and to be honest we can only think of three - Back in the USSR, Taxman and Get Back.

Does anyone really want to rock out to I Wanna Hold Your Hand? Post below.

The best news I've heard all day. Helter Skelter, Revolution, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Come Together, I Feel Fine... there are so many songs that will work great with Guitar Hero. Seriously, listen to And Your Bird Can Sing and tell me that it won't be a massive challenge

Two of my favourite Beatles tracks are "Hey Bulldog" and "Sgt Pepper's (reprise)" which I think would both work well in GH. (although the reprise version of Sgt Pepper may be too short).
