Square classics hit PSN

...in Japan. Euro PS Store releases are "TBA", says Square
Six classic Square titles have hit the Japanese PS Store today as part of the company's plan to bring its much-loved PSOne back-catalogue to PS3. We Brits will have to wait a while though...

The six titles, Xenogears (Square), Einhander (Square), Astronoka (Enix), Rakugaki, Showtime (Enix), Raystorm (Taito), Fighters Impact (Taito), all cost 600 Yen each (about £3).

A UK correspondent for Square today told CVG that plans to launch titles on the European PSN (or anywhere outside Japan) are, for now, still TBA.

We'd also speculate that it's unlikely for any titles that weren't originally released in UK to appear on our PS Store.

But there are plenty of incredible titles that could make it our way - the Final Fantasy series (VII please!), Vagrant Story, Chrono Trigger. Oh yes!

A download of FF7 (3 discs) would be nearly the same size and the gt5 prologue download.

A few final fantasies will quickly fill up those 40gb hard drives - may need to buy a few 16gb memory sticks for you psp too.

Pray for Xenogears, still one of the best Rpgs ever made.

I still have a copy of it for the PS, though this would make life a lil easier to play it.

If the UK store gets Xenogears, then Sony will have gained at least one more ps3 sale!

I mean me of course.

TBA - those three immortal letters. Us Europeans really do get shafted.

Never did get to finish Xenogears. My brother continued on my save and finished it Mad
He did the same on my FF7 game when it first came out......git!

And people wonder why I won't let him near my games, or visit for that matter Laughing

Xenogears has probably the most intense final couple of battles ever, certainly one of the best end sequences...

*gets out ps1 and Xenogears*

yay.

May not be square, but how about some of the more pricey games like Castlevania, Vandal Hearts and Suikoden on psn. Damned if i can afford the insane sums they go for on ebay at least not until i strike oil in my back yard!

Chrono Cross for Europe...I can only dream Crying or Very sad

This could be a very exciting development although I really doubt that we will get it over here sadly sony doesn't seem to care very much for the euro market we just aren't big enough so I doubt we will see this let alone the likes of the fantastic final fantasy VII but if we do i will be a very happy man lol Very Happy

Chrono Cross for Europe...I can only dream Crying or Very sad

I just popped in here to say exactly the same thing.

I managed to import me a copy of the game, and it works great through the emulator I'm using, but it's the sort of game that really needs to be played while kicked back on the sofa...
