Six classic Square titles have hit the Japanese PS Store today as part of the company's plan to bring its much-loved PSOne back-catalogue to PS3. We Brits will have to wait a while though...
The six titles, Xenogears (Square), Einhander (Square), Astronoka (Enix), Rakugaki, Showtime (Enix), Raystorm (Taito), Fighters Impact (Taito), all cost 600 Yen each (about £3).
A UK correspondent for Square today told CVG that plans to launch titles on the European PSN (or anywhere outside Japan) are, for now, still TBA.
We'd also speculate that it's unlikely for any titles that weren't originally released in UK to appear on our PS Store.
But there are plenty of incredible titles that could make it our way - the Final Fantasy series (VII please!), Vagrant Story, Chrono Trigger. Oh yes!
May not be square, but how about some of the more pricey games like Castlevania, Vandal Hearts and Suikoden on psn. Damned if i can afford the insane sums they go for on ebay at least not until i strike oil in my back yard!
This could be a very exciting development although I really doubt that we will get it over here sadly sony doesn't seem to care very much for the euro market we just aren't big enough so I doubt we will see this let alone the likes of the fantastic final fantasy VII but if we do i will be a very happy man lol
I just popped in here to say exactly the same thing.
I managed to import me a copy of the game, and it works great through the emulator I'm using, but it's the sort of game that really needs to be played while kicked back on the sofa...
