We'll warn you to take this with a pinch of salt right now as Rockstar won't comment on it at all. But it wouldn't surprise us at all to see the game coming to PC, it's been heavily rumoured already, but to get the news out of a customer support team? That's just silly...
The story goes that a couple of guys emailed the support team saying they were having problems with their surround sound while they were playing the PC version. "The first person driving view is simply amazing and the Nico Bellic character really makes me feel like I'm living the storyline. So much so that I feel bad in finding something to complain about, that being the surround sound. At times the back left speaker cuts out, specially when characters like little Jacob are speaking. Also when I call 911, the automated response starts, but cuts out when I am given emergency options."
Had us convinced right there, but it doesn't take much.
After a few responses they received the reply: "The PC version of GTA IV has not even been announced for release and is still in development so is not about to be released on a website we have no knowledge of."
When pressed further on a release, the 'pranksters' were told: "We are unsure when the PC version of the game will be released as we are only technical support and do not receive information on the matter. I would suggest keeping an eye on www.rockstargames.com for any information." Opps...
Of course it's going to be on the PC. Considering the sales figures for the other GTA games, and the fact that GTA was born on the PC, R* aren't gonna shun the PC

Well since all of the other GTA games have either started on or been ported to PC eventually, you'd need to be a bit of a retard not to be able to work out that it'd happen with #4 as well
Firstly this is far from a scoop. Release dates would've been but this 'news' is just stating the obvious. Secondly, what is some lowly tech support guy going to know about the release schedules for unreleased - nay, unannounced - games?! Hell, the phone jockey in question may not even be based in the same building and the incriminating line sounds more like a simple slip from a guy who probably also expects the game to come out on PC but actually knows jack all. Either way this wouldn't exactly be the first time a tech support operator has attempted to sound like they know more than they really do... anyone been in touch with BT recently?!
OMG this is far from confirmation this is not even news for god sake plus technical support don't anything about what's on development. Take Two Interactive won't be making more GTA for PC due to piracy and problems. PC gamers can keep dreaming or buy a PS3.

Do people actually still believe rubbish like this ? Rockstar would be completely insane to ignore the PC market. If you look at Crysis that racked up 1.5 million sales that is a game that apparently NO one could run and was a brand new IP. On the other hand GTA 4 will have fairly low requirements. All console ports have so far run on my lowly media server which consists of a core2duo with a 8600gts (max settings @ 1280 x 720). It is a massive brand name, I can easily see GTA 4 reaching 2 million units on the PC which is an awful lot of dough.
I am not just optimistic it is coming to the PC I am 100% sure it is and I bet it won't be 640p with framerate issues on my PC's

It seems this wasn't the only trick played on Rockstar games . A poster from GTAforums did a similar thing and even got a rough date from them, you can read about it here :-
He basically posed as Dan Houser and recieved a reply from Rita Liberator that the game is due for release in September.
I appreciate this is a "dodgy" source but I know the poster that did this and he is 100% legit. But as always make of it what you will, sooner or later he will either be proved right or wrong.
i'ld heard that it had already been anounced for pc for an october release, gamespot.com had it up on their website a few months back but it was deleted after a couple of weeks
