Ahead of the LucasArts E3 press conference next week, eagle-eyed internet users have spotted listings for the third instalment on retail site Amazon (which have since been pulled), including Battlefront III products on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP and DS. That's all of them, then.
In late 2006 the Timesplitters (and cough, Haze) developer formally disclosed a "next-gen LucasArts project", but is still to officially discuss the game.
"In the battle for videogame quality, these guys are at the front of the line. This team's pedigree is one of the best in the business," said ex-Lucasarts VP Peter Hirschmann on the deal. Notice a hint there?
I am really quite looking forward to this having played the last ones in the series on the PS2 but that was back in the dark ages before I could play online and the best I could get was playing it split screen with my mates. But now with the wonders of Live being able to play this online with all my mates in lovely HD I can't wait.

Battle for hotrh anyone?
Even split screen this game was ace. Man, this has the potential to be a truly great game. Even if it was basically CoD4 with a Star Wars skin it wouldn't be so bad.

Star Wars running on the COD4 engine would be a thing of beauty. I hope they incorperate some of the new tech Lucasarts have made recently like DMM and euphoria.
Hate to split hairs and wot not, but euprohia and DMM are third paryt engines - anybody can use them if they want ot pay the licencing fees.
Still i minor quibble in the overall scheme of things
Im sure I saw something about Lucasarts making these engines because im sure the tech demos I saw early on used storm troopers to show off euphoria long before it was wnnounced they were using it the force unleashed.
Limerick, i to believe the euphoria is a lucas arts engine, i remember the indy jones tech demo showing off the engine, even the announcer said the engine was from lucas arts.
I totally love the battlefront games, I totally love star wars as well and battlefront is the perfect game, battles at our favourite star wars locations. I was excited once Free Radical was rumoured as the developer for the next game, but after HAZE, im not sure, I will still get it though, but Free Radical did well in the multiplayer side of TimeSplitters, so hopefully they do well in battlefront 3, in other words, more TimeSplitters style and less, or better, no HAZE style at all.
deffo cant wait for this to play online, i loved the other 2.... this has great potential to be the most popular game played on live or PSN, will be awesome playing with your mates with headsets....
i can't wait for star wars battlefront3,the first one was got me into online gaming on the xbox all those years ago
i am hoping though that Free Radical dont decide to do the game in the style of timesplitters,cartooney...if anything i would love the game to look more like gears of war(real gritty dirty graphics)..imagine GoW but with Stormtroopers!!!!,or maybe like call of duty 4...i can dream can't I?
I would love for this to be true aswell, even though HAZE was balls. But the thing your all forgetting is that this is on Amazon. I don't know about you lot but i don't trust a thing Amazon says unless it's also on a credible site. Chances are that Battlefront 3 is being developed, but won't come out for ages. Though Amazon will probably display it as available for purchase 1 month after it's officially announced.
