News trumping just about everything Nintendo said yesterday has finally spilled out from Famitsu - Dead Rising is coming to Wii.
Scans of Japan's influential gaming magazine spilled on to the internet this morning, showing the game up and running on the system.
Whilst it's not the Las Vegas set sequel we were hoping for, the screens are really quite impressive, matching the 360 version admirably.
Of course, the body text is in Japanese so we don't really know much more. If it's in Famitsu now though, expect Capcom to officially announce it soon. Although with it being in a magazine already, so you could kind of call of 'official'.
This would be more like it. Will have to wait and see; hopefully, it won't be absolute utter tosh like Alone in the Dark on Wii was. Will still want to get a 360 to go with the Wii though, couldn't sleep last night due to that f@*king Wii Music presentation.
Flock doesn't even appear to be released on Wii ! Sounds like a severe case of chinese whispers for this new Wii game to be confused with the cutesy UFO thingy!
I am so happy Capcom have spared us cute farm animals and given us more zombies to entertain ourselves with.
Hope it will be backward compatible with the upcoming Wii motion controller add-on.

Don't forget that Alone in the dark was utter tosh on 360 and PS3 also. This is not a case of Wii getting inferior versions.
It actually looks remarkably similar to the 360 version. So much so it would be one and the same... I guess the real test is how the Wii handles a butt load of zombies on screen at once though.
Is this where I'm supposed to be annoyed that a 360 exclusive is appearing on a rival console?

True, but the Wii version was far worse. It was an unfinshed, broken version of a poor game. This is what concerns me about multi-platform releases on Wii, often there are pale, unplayable imitations of other platform releases. Stuff like PES 2008 or Bully shows that when effort is put in, they can be really good.
Good news for me! After all the crap that Nintendo showed off yesterday I was gutted in the end that nothing good would coming to the Wii. Now I am very happy.
I have played the 360 verison to death (sorry!) and me and my brother and his mate have said just how great DR would work with the Wii. If they can still fit 200 zombies on my TV at once then I'm sure I will get this again.
WOAH. call me wrong and damn happy about it.(checks date...nope it ain't april) i haven't seen any screenshots/video yet so quality has still tbc but at least it's not a neopets spin off.

How anyone could get annoyed at losing a game to a rival console almost two years after it came out would be mental, its like Bioshock... no one cares the PS3's getting a version as it'll be over a year since the original was out. If they want sloppy seconds then they can have them.
This is good news but it could go one of 2 ways, either they get it spot on (hopefully) and integrate the Wii remote properly or they get it wrong and it looks good but plays horrendously. If they get it right then think of using the many diffent items as weapons with the Wii remote, then again they could just blow out the motion sensing and go for the classic controller instead, will be intersesting to see what happens.
i could only find a one page scan from famitsu and the game IS a year and a half old but still,if capcom can sort the motion sensing out (wii motion plus anyone?) this could be really fun on the wii.
thinking on,is this the first ever 360-wii port?
if so and it does well expect resi 5 further down the line.
i said that after nintendo's poor showing,i was looking for 3rd parties to step up (while being sure that they wouldn't because frankly they haven't yet) and listed a few games i thought looked decent.
add this to cod, madworld, tiger woods and the conduit.

Could say the same with 360 owners playing Goldeneye and Banjo Kazooie. This is not about only getting something a year late, but about more people being able to play a great game.
I didn't enjoy Bully on Wii any less, just because it was a year old PS2 game. Nor Okami.

I was more poking fun at the ridiculous outcry of some regarding the FFXIII 'incident'. I couldn't care less if Dead Rising came out on the Wii. Or the PS3 for that matter.
I really liked Dead Rising on the 360 but I'm going to get the same game again, they should have done something with the series on the Wii instead of a direct remake.

Nope, it'll be using the Wiimote. If you look at the screenshots you can see the RE4 type shooter cursor and a couple of the other shots have some good old Wiimote-waggling
All I ask is they perfect the controls, wii motion plus if necessary...All I ask....and touche, yes we're getting a game a little later than 360 owners. Are you saying it's now the equilivent of asteroids? Anyway I've never played the original so it'll be good I should think.
