Golden Joysticks teams up with Channel 4

Two compos looking for aspiring game devs
Channel 4 is looking for budding games developers to take part in competitions to win cash prizes and industry exposure in partnership with the Golden Joystick Awards (hey, that's us!).

The competitions cover both the development of mobile and flash games, so if you've ever had any desire to design your own videogame then send in your ideas right now.

Winners of the competitions will receive not only a cash prize, but be asked to attend the Golden Joystick's receive special awards. They will also get the chance to have their ideas optioned for future commercial development.

I really hope the Golden Joysticks is being televised.

I know the industry has to be taken seriously but the BAVGA awards was too stale and formal for a business that deals significantly with the younger generations.

No need to emulate Hollywood shows, the Golden Joysticks can be exciting and fresh.
(no nerdy videogame journalist please)

I do hope that a channel four partnership like this might mean they would televise the show, I was there last year and it was certainly worth televising.

Of course having it on TV won't replace the pre-show drinks and after show party...
