A piece of concept art from the new Deus Ex has emerged online, depicting a high tech laboratory.
The lab is fairly non-descript, but there are a few details PC Zone's Will Porter just pointed out to us.
If you look closely, there's an augmentation canister in the background and to the right is a mechanical hand and some legs hanging up. The symbol on the floor also looks familiar, but we can't remember where we've seen it.
The image was posted on the deviant art page of a concept designer known as BaronTiERi.
The artist claims to have worked on Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed. Whilst we can't confirm this, his internet presence is quite extensive. We'd be surprised if this was an elaborate fake.
I found that the level looked very familiar as well.
In fact... the lab setting, the 2 storey portion at the back with the steps like that, remind me a lot of the UNATCO underground lab. Which was in the first game, shortly after you escape from the prison cell. If true just behind that yellow screen is another lab area where you first met the little sewer bird things.
I do really hope this new game just tells Pauls story. He would have to visit many similar areas to the first game.
Here's the thing though - it's up at DeviantArt, not hidden away in some basement. So what's to say this isn't just fan art based on what he thinks should appear in DE3? It would also explain why it looks so familiar.
Hmmm... I think it looks more like the Hong Kong MJ12 lab myself, so does this mean we'll finally be seeing the red Greasels that were mentioned in the notes in the Arctic lab? (I can't wait to slap some Karkians around again!)
After Deus Ex 2 I don't care to much for what they'll do to this. Deus Ex is in my top 5 best PC games ever...Deus Ex 2 was in the top 5 worst games of all time.
Don't be silly. Deus Ex 2 was a poor game in relation to the first, but it is no way in any top 5 list of the worst games ever. Maybe dissapointing, not worst.

Anyone know if this has a console release? Im actually playing through Deus Ex at the minute. I have played it before, but ive never beaten it. Im just scared my PC won't be able to handle the third.
I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping that this time, they'll get it right! Deus Ex is my #1 favourite game of all time and I WANT a worthy sequel. Deus Ex 2 was a let down, it wasn't a bad game, but not in the same league as the original Deus Ex... not even in the same galaxy. :\ Please, please, please, get the Deus Ex 3 right! I'm begging you!
*Now, where's that lamb that I wanted to sacrifice?*

Ignoring the fact that Deus Ex 3 is not going to be with us until the absolute minimum of Christmas 2009 so you may have upgraded by then, there will be a console version. Guaranteed.
I bought the original Deus Ex for the PS2 a few months back, twice. The game is messed up somehow and refuses to load any of my saved progress, meaning I'd have to somehow marathon through the game if I ever want to experience it, which aint gonna happen. I tried multiple copies of the game, multiple PS2's, and multiple memory cards, no dice with any of 'em.
Why don't you just get the original PC version of Deus Ex? It's basically for free nowadays.
I might look into that. My PC has always been terrible, so I have never really considered PC games, but now I have a relatively OK Dell optiplex thingy.
Is it as simple as getting the disc and chucking it in? Or would I have to recalibrate the micron drive, poke the circuit boards, download an army of crap, and shake it a bit?
I love the idea of playing as Paul. And the concept art is official, not fake.

If you buy the Game of The Year Edition (from STEAM for example) you won't have to do anything else but install the game. It takes a few seconds and then you are good to go. Though I don't think it really needs any patches, I didn't have any problems with the original but the GOTY ed. includes multiplayer too.
