Hellgate dev reborn as Runic Games

Flagship Studios teams forms new developer to focus on "action-RPG MMO" games
The former Mythos and Hellgate: London team at Flagship Studios has reformed as Runic games, after a huge shake-up at the developer.

Flagship saw massive lay-offs last month which saw pretty much everyone other than Bill Roper and a few post room boys sacked from the company.

According to a statement by the reformed team at Runic, the developer will "continue to use their expertise in the action-RPG MMO genre" and will be rolling out new projects into the public eye in the near future.

Runic is headed by Mythos director Travis Baldree and Max Schaefer, who was one of the original founders of Blizzard North.

It would be nice if they could revive Mythos. But I suppose it will be stuck in legal limbo like so much else.

I'm glad they are back from the dead, but seriously, have they thought of picking another genre to concentrate on?

continue to use their expertise in the action-RPG MMO genre

Yeah, because that's why Hellgate was a massive success...

So Mythos is no more? ****. Reminds me of those cowboy traders who close down as one company with huge debts only to open up following week as a new outfit. You see them all the time on Crime watch.
