Quantum of Solace producer Garrett Young has said he's "not super impressed" with Vivendi's The Bourne Conspiracy.
Speaking in an interview with OXM, the Treyarch man said he thought that the Bourne films were good, before turning on the Highmoon Studios game.
"The Bourne game... we did download the demo, we did look at it, like we do anything that's new and coming out," he explained.
"Turok we played and other things that are new, we played GTA although that's not really in our space. But... yeah... not super impressed with [Bourne]... it's always tough though when you make a game and you don't have the lead character from the movie."
As for Quantum of Solace, that's being developed by Treyarch using the Call of Duty 4 engine. The game tie-in focuses on both Daniel Craig flicks, hopping between first-person and third-person sections.
Sorry, but I don't really get that - 'it's hard when you don't have the lead character'?
What difference could that possibly make? - I'm sure most gamers would take a protaganist that doesn't look or sound like the actor in the film with solid gameplay over a motion captured and fully sound recorded Matt Damon/Daniel Craig.
It doesn't really matter either way - I'm pretty sure that Quantum of Solace will be another disappointing film tie-in.
I think he should watch what he's saying about other games, OXM weren't very complimentary about the bond game in last months preview so I think he should wait until what the world thinks of his bond game.
Personally I dont think it looks that good to me but i'll reserve judgement until i've played it myself.

Thing is, the Bourne films pi$$ all over the Brosnan/Craig Bond films.
So with Bond, you have average films and a soon to be average game; I don't think the Quantum... devs should be spouting too much.
With their comment "It's always hard when you don't have the lead actor in the game..etc" was just a cheap school yard did at the Bourne devs - whilst hilighting the hilighting the only thing the game has going for it (aprt from the COD4 engine which I think they are making a pigs ear of...)
Im sorry but I dont think not having Matt Damon made any difference to the game, I wasnt bothered that they didnt have him, as long as they did justice to the films/ books.
The gameplay was awful, loadings times were unforgivable. the stylish moves were ace but would have liked to have abit more control over them somehow.
And im not being over critical, i was really looking forward to it being a good game, shame.

Seriously, between the stuff you've posted about the PS3 and then this, do you ever think through what you post before you click submit? There's a chance Treyarch will surprise us, but there's equally good chance they're being too c**ky and will screw it up.
So we'll all just have to wait and see. But regardless of how Quantum of Solace turns out, getting c**ky is never a smart move - especially if the game turns out a total disaster, then he'll look quite the fool.
And it's a tad early to be making inane predictions about the performance of this game.

'McEmpire'. Have to disagree, Matt Damon has to be the most unconvincing hit man/agent/hard nut I've ever seen on celluloid. He looks like a teenager! The bourne films were good. Casino Roy ale and I also think Golden eye are far more enjoyable films, and yeas Craig is a far more convincing one man killing machine.
