Silicon Knights boss Dennis Dyack has dropped the first vague details on the dev's next game with Sega, which he says will be nothing like Too Human or Eternal Darkness.
Speaking in an interview with CVG, Dyack said he wants to continue to keep Silicon Knights' line-up "fresh", and continue making new IP.
"We've been lucky enough to make Legacy of Kain, Eternal Darkness, Too Human and if you look at all of those they're all really different," said Dyack. "The next game that we're going to announce, not including the sequels to the trilogy, it's nothing like anything else we've ever made before.
"We want to continue to do that to keep fresh. That's really what's important, and making sure that we continue to make new IPs but also continue to innovate in the genres that we try to... create content in, I suppose is the best way to describe it."
The Too Human developer is already known to be working on a new IP with Sega, which will be the studio's first partnership with a non-platform-holder in ten years.
I thought they were going to make Too Human a trilogy. Judging by how long it took to make Too Human, they had better bloody hurry up with its next installments if they want to go faffing around with new IP's as well.

did u read the story?, he said not including the sequels to the Trilogy... but ur right, Too Human took a lifetime to make it seems, & i don't think people have been that impressed, shame they should look at maybe bringing back an old IP like Chaos Engine?.
EDIT:- sorry getting my developers mixed up.. i was thinking of the Bitmap brotherS?...
Give us a sequel to Eternal Darkness Damn you!!!!!
Agreed.
That said, I applaud them for this though. Too many devs are reliant on former glories (Nintendo being one of the biggest culprits here) and making endless sequels. New IPs can't be a bad thing eh?
Unless they suck, obviously I do like Too Human though - sadly, it's on my 'maybe' pile, as there are a LOT of games upcoming that are 'must buys'.
In this increasingly cynical, money-oriented & corporate industry, it's refreshing to hear stories about developers that first & foremost just want to make a good game and try new things.
i'd be happy if they just revamped the Kain series. at least they'd get people excited about their games. after playing the too human demo i was not impressed with the gameplay and its gonna have to take a really high review score to even get me to notice it again.

There are 6 reviews on Metacritic at the moment,i aint buying it,might rent it.
It's not very good at all apparently,10 years to make and it turns out s**t WTF!!
Not sure a sequel to Eternal Darkness would work... as much as I'd like to revisit a game like that. Perhaps it was one of those one off experiences?
Only just booted up the demo to TH today and even then only had a walk about before going out. Not sure about the combat using the right analogue stick but I have a lot of time for Silicon Knights, so I'll have a good root through the demo and see if there isn't enough charm to enjoy the game.
I've always thought that AAA was in the eye of the beholder.
