Pre-order Banjo N&B, get Banjo XBLA early

A pre-order campaign worth pre-ordering. Banjo N&B dated too!
Microsoft has officially dated Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts 'n Bolts for November 14, and unveiled a pre-order scheme which was early birds nabbing the Xbox Live Arcade version for free - and first.

Only punters who pre-order Nuts 'n Bolts from "select retailers" will get Banjo-Kazooie XBLA before the Xbox 360 version's release. Everyone else will have to wait until "a couple of weeks" after the new game's release for the XBLA version.

As always there's no official date for Banjo XBLA, but pre-order code holders are promised a "two-week head start", so we can assume they'll get thir hands on it about the same time as Nuts 'n Bolts is released.

Rare's also confirmed that the canned "Stop 'N Swap" feature from the N64 version is back for the XBLA update.

"Stop N' Swop rewards players' accomplishments in the new game with extra content and features in the Xbox LIVE Arcade game, giving fans who pre-order "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts" the chance to experience more Banjo action than ever," says MS. We're so buying this.

For our intial eyes-on with the XBLA version, read this past news story.

Wow. That really is brilliant news, Im so looking forward to Nuts & Bolts and think that a wee shot on Banjo will rekindle all my memories.

Fair play to MS, some more deals like this will go down a treat thank you very much.

*Scratches head*

What are the retailers again?
StonecoldMC on 19 Aug '08
They better not f**k us around again in the UK like they have with the bar games for Fable 2.
monkey_puncher on 19 Aug '08
I think Nuts and Bolts looks great so ill be buying that eventually, i will also be getting Banjo XBLA, however i think i will just wait a month or so till im back from Uni and will pick it up cheap.
DAEDALUS79 on 19 Aug '08
I'm all over it like a nasty rash!

I was just about to say the same thing. I'm not ordering until it says on the retailers website that this deal actually exists first.
Petebrolly on 19 Aug '08
Not really too bothered about the XBLA Banjo but nice as a freebie I guess, just can't wait to get my hands on Nuts 'n Bolts on the 14th!!!!
Tonyb on 19 Aug '08
Meh, I'm not too bothered about XBLA release, if I really wanted to play the original again before Nuts & bolts, I can just set up my N64 and play it.

Unfortunately the same can be said of these forums and your posts.

You nearly showed humour there too Razz . I agree with your classic loses statement.

So, who are these retailers?

I'm Irish, so I really hope we don't get screwed over as we so often do with this kind of thing
TheRexFactor on 19 Aug '08
It'll be the usual suspects in the UK I'd imagine. We'll go ask Microsoft. Plenty of time yet though. It's not like they're going to sell out of XBLA codes (is it?).

have you got pubes yet?

(theres a classic)

NO. But I picked you Mums out from between my teeth.

(Now, that is a classic)
StonecoldMC on 19 Aug '08
Wow, that's actually a good bit of marketing.

I really, really cant wait to play the 360 version of the N64 original Banjo. Innocent, clean fun. But f**k paying for Nuts & Bolts when journalists preview it as being above average.
Confused

Just like to point out to all the people that still have their backs up about the Fable pub games thing...

I'm not sure if they're actually doing them or not in the UK still (I gave up reading about it long ago) - but the fact of the matter is that either way, you'd have to wait until the day Fable 2 was released before you could get your free code anyway.

And I'll tell you why. Because unlike America, you don't need to put a deposit on your pre-orders over here. Which means they have absolutely no guarantee that you're going to buy the game - everyone would simply pre-order, get their code and then cancel their order otherwise.

Plus that makes it totally pointless anyway since the pub games are 'bundled' with Fable 2 (they are actual pub games you can play inside the game when you visit certain pubs in Albion, just like the original game) which can also be used to unlock the live arcade version.

Just wanted to put that out there cause it's highly annoying seeing so many people p**sed off at something they don't understand in the slightest.

ow dat is a bummer. I cant complain over the fact that i won Nuts&Bolds and will receive it for free...but that means i have to wait two extra weeks for the XBLA version...but hey...i may not whine Smile
lupaie on 19 Aug '08
Pre-order - get code - sell code on ebay for Ł20 2 weeks before release -return game to shop and laugh at my profit

Also, It was on Lionheads website saying Game and Gamestation would be taking part, but that has been amended to just Game, although Game themselves know nothing about it so lionhead have screwed up
EDIT> lionhead site is now saying "There appears to be some confusion over the participating retailers list we posted on our site. We are very sorry for this as we posted it in good faith. We are trying to resolve this confusion as soon as possible. We hope to publish an update shortly. Thank you for your patience"so there blaming everyone else ha ha fecking companys eh!!

Yeah can't agree with you more
Rens11 on 20 Aug '08
Still no mention of the price for it all though.
In the states you get all this for $40 (as opposed to the usual $60 for a new game). We will probably get the same treatment over here, so Banjo N&B + the original for... Ł30?

Erm, what's stopping them from having the code in the box? At least then they could only re-sell the game, as no self respecting retailer would take it back otherwise.

gamestation are doing the code for fable2

Nope because rrp for a game in the uk is still Ł49.99 so we'll probably get offered it for Ł40 which most retailers take every game down to so there's no real difference so as per usual europe get treated like s**t
