Lionhead is to patch an exploit in Xbox Live Arcade game, Fable II Pub Games, which lets you wrack up in-game gold at lightning speed.
"If you are wondering about a 'much talked about' exploit, just ignore it (and know that a patch is on the way)," the developer said on its latest dev blog.
The bug in question involves a quick button tap that tricks the Fable gambling game into thinking you're betting high, when really you're only risking minimal cash.
Of course all the gold won in Pub Games can be transferred over to Fable II once it's released, so the fact that everyone's raking in illegal cash isn't good news. At least Lionhead's sorting it.
The full game will likely be in the same sad state, just like the first. I'll wait for the rest of you to dive head first into this one. If the lot of you like it than I may give it a try.
I wonder if they will wipe the gold out? Tho to be fair the only person it's going to ruin the game for is the person who has got all this gold. They could maybe (tho to late) make a senario where if you get loads of money you get robbed.
Would love to see the forums after all the cheats get robbed and end up worse off
They should have play tested it properly first, im one of the few that have exploited it but I know for sure my 220,000 gold will account for nothing compared to some people when the game comes out, there's going to be a good few ghettos and private estates springly up pretty quickly come release day!!
Thats bad! That means when i get my copy of Pub Games i cant cheat gold!
I hope to hell you're not waiting on the GAME "pre-order BONUS", according to the website you're going to have to wait until the day the Fable 2 comes out to get Pub Games! Yep, what's the point in that?
I don't see what the problem is. Its still a single player game at heart. Besides, who actually gives two about their leadboard ranking? There's always someone better anyway and there's always going to be bugs in games.
Don't blame Lionhead for the bug either, they didn't make the pub games. Not really...
