11 playable Spore prototypes released

Early test versions of Spore made available to the public
In a rather unorthodox move, Maxis has made several playable prototype versions of Spore available for download.

"One of the ways in which we explore possible design directions is by building simple, playable prototypes that we can play around with to get a sense for a particular system," it says on the official site.

"Usually these prototypes are never seen by the public, but we thought some of the more intrepid players out there might enjoy playing around with a few of our early Spore prototypes."

Unusual indeed, but nevertheless there are 11 different prototypes up for download for anyone interested in playing early, bugged versions of videogames. Check them all out on the Spore website.
