Nintendo big-shot Reggie Fils-Aime has said that Nintendo is "flattered" by Microsoft's decision to create an Avatar system for 360, which resembles Nintendo's Mii avatars.
In a recent interview with a Spanish Nintendo magazine, Fils-Aime spoke of Nintendo's thoughts towards MS's Avatars.
"Copying is a way flattering, so we're very flattered," said Fils-Aime, according to GoNintendo translations.
Elsewhere in the rough translations, Reggie dismissed rampant DS redesign rumours, reasoning that a redesign will come when sales of the console are declining, not when it's doing well.

I remember Mark mentioned that he got a gamer pic out of PGR4 for something that he'd done in the game and I think that these sort of things should be included a lot more. Although, having said that; I do seem to have a load of Gun gamer pics and Themes - do they come as standard? (maybe I did unlock them?)

Without doubt, the controller is the biggest thing putting me off buying a PS3 - I hate them...I have stupidly big hands and they just don't fit comfortably - I've had the same problem with all Sony consoles because they haven't bothered to redesign it.
I think the PS3 is a damn fine machine. Knock Ł50 off the price and I'd probably snap one up - but that control pad....I just know that'd be the thing that would ensure I'd buy all cross-platform titles on 360.

The Dualshock badly needs changing, they've made big strides in improving the console since the original PlayStation was released but they persist in using the same, way too small, control pad they started with, okay they added two thumbsticks, but its still the same design they started with, and you don't need big hands to know its too small ,lightweight and fiddly.

I still think it'd be brilliant if we could just create our own - as it is, I'm seriously considering just using a standard pic as a background....better than any of the other options I have. I'd consider that Fight Night one, but only because I've literally played the game to death (I really need to trade that in - it's seriously hampering my attempts at completing the games that I own!)
(PS - just had a chat with my brother and he said that quite a few games give you themes and gamer pics - seems to be mostly the older ones....the Gun theme is free to download, anyway)

I'm the same as you, i have big hands and my thumbs sometimes touch in the middle when using the sticks. My pad always seems to run out of power at the wrong moments and having to play with a charger cable attached ( which by the way is too short ) is unforgiveable.
The pad was also the reason i put off buying a ps3 until recently, i love my gaming so i gave in and purchased it, but all multiformat games are bought for my 360.

Especially Sony as they never would of done a console if they hadn't learnt how from Ninty when they were in a so called partnership to do a optical device for the Snes. The deal goes tits up and Sony have a console out for the next gen funny that innit.

Couple of things you missed though.. Four face buttons as standard, start & select buttons, wireless pads, trigger buttons (anologue & standard) & built in wifi.
On another note. It always makes me laugh how the MS & Sony fanboys gather to battle it out but constantly decide to ingnore that Nintendo even exists & that they are outselling both MS & Sony by a massive amount.
I'm not sure if this is because..

Either way, the MS & Sony fanboys direct decision to ignore Nintendo as a competitor, mirrors exactly how Sony & MS dealt with Nintendo themselves. They totally overlooked the big 'N' & they're paying for it now with these blatant acts of plagiarism.
I like the 360 & PS3 but for what they are, not what I want them to be. I don't want my 360 to be more like my Wii. I bought the Wii for Ninty games, motion controls & mii's. I bought my 360 for LIVE, HD graphics & next gen games. I wish MS would just concentrate on the market that they have carved out for themselves, rather than chasing someone elses approach.
The Wii knows what it is, as does the PS3 with it's quirky little titles. MS should know what the 360 is by now. Each console is able to survive in this market as long as they're all different enough. As soon as they all start copying each other & attempt to blur those lines, the sooner people won't be able to distinguish the differences in the consoles & then it's just a matter of people buying the cheapest one, with the most big titles (like last gen).
Going back to the MS & Sony fanboys for a minute. Another thing I find hilarious about them is how they are SO blind to Nintendo's success, that they will even row in the comments section of a Nintendo article & not even realise it! I know, they are bold enough to try new things & they really do try to innovate. Look what success can do to you though. The Wii showed real promise on launch but it's success has stifled that somewhat I feel. Here's hoping Motion Plus will change all that & breath the innovation back into the Wii that I originally felt with its launch.
As for Wii Music, it's going to be casual crap, mark my words. I'd be sceptical about more than this one game tbh. I'm sceptical of Nintendo's entire approach now after it has hit it big with the non gamer. I really hope they do - the Motion Plus looks like it could be amazing. I think the Wii is a cracking little console - had one a few months and have a ton of good games on it....having said that, I haven't bought one for ages and I can't see anything but MadWorld over the next few months.
Don't you think Nintendo can sometimes be a little unfair with their third-parties though?, from what I understand; Lucasarts were none too pleased about being left in the dark about the motion-plus....if anything, surely Nintendo should be helping them to release AAA games.

I am holding out zero hope for Wii Music. Watching that E3 presentation of it was nothing short of embarrassing. If they really believe that this is the game to go up against the likes of Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Sing Star, Lips etc, then they (like Tam) need a reality check.
I honestly believe though that E3 was a warning shot for them. They received next to no positive reaction from it, and I really believe (or should that be hope?) that this is enough for them to sit up and take notice.

How do you guys find time to actually play games? - I never post on here during the evening (I only post when I'm at boring old work) and last night was one of those rare times that I had a few hours to kill.
I'm doing pretty good at Forza 2 at the moment. I bought it ages ago bundled with a spare controller and never played it...fantastic game, even if I will probably never beat it.

As much as it pains me I have to agree that if you want interestings forums that actually discuss games you have to go into the magazine forums that are regulated. How do you guys find time to actually play games? - I never post on here during the evening (I only post when I'm at boring old work) and last night was one of those rare times that I had a few hours to kill.
I'm doing pretty good at Forza 2 at the moment. I bought it ages ago bundled with a spare controller and never played it...fantastic game, even if I will probably never beat it.

Games whats that? Actually I was posting between playing and trying to finally finish Lost Odysee. Blue Dragon maybe next. Although if Infinite Undiscovery should turn up today that might just get first billing.

I need to clear my old games before things like Fallout 3 and Fable 2 turn up. I need to clear things like Dead Rising, Splinter Cell: Double Agent and Forza 2, otherwise I'm pretty sure I never will - and they're all good games.

My most awaited game this year is Fallout 3 if I play that and Infinite and finish the other JRPG's I own then by the time they are done all the other titles I want should be cheap enough.
