The Xbox Live demo of Star War: The Force Unleashed has smashed the download record previously held by Too Human.
Eager to find out if the Star Wars action game is actually any good, 360 owners zipped through a million downloads of the Force Unleashed demos in eight days, says LucasArts - a day faster than Too Human's record.
Add on the number of Force Unleashed demos downloaded on the PlayStation Network, and the total's lifted to 2.3 million demos served to date. But how many of those will convert to actual sales?
The Force Unleashed is out on virtually every platform imaginable on September 19. Read our latest hands-on here.
After playing the demo I gotta admit it wasn't as bad as I was expecting (except for the boxes laying everywhere very 1990's style) I still won't be getting it though too many good games coming out in the next few months!
It was all a bit so-so for me but probably the best I could have hoped for.
Since when has a Stormtroopers arm been impervious to a lightsaber! I want limb aputation please. You can cut droids in half but not slice and dice humanoids?! Even the films have that in.
This, just like the Too Human demo, is because you had a lot of people interested but all of them were just unsure how it would play, so they tried the demo. Guarantee that something like Fallout 3 wouldn't get this number of trials. Everyone's certain that'll be good, so don't need the crux that a demo gives.
I had no time for the Too Human demo. It seemed clunky and dull, but I seem to be the only person on the planet that actually enjoyed the Force Unleashed demo. I loved force pushing the doors open, chucking storm troopers through windows and smashing TIE Fighters. I thought the lightsabre fighting was top-notch (reminded me of God of War). The only thing I didn't really like was the force lightning. I'll admit that looked a bit cheap.
Plus, the way Starkiller ran with his lightsabre pointing upwards behind his back - how cool was that?
It seems I'm in an overwhelming minority, though. This suits me fine, however, as it will be in the sale in no time and I can snap it up in a 2 for £30 deal.
I thought it was ok but I don't know how long it'd take before I got bored of it. If the storyline's good enough I'll prob rent it for that alone.
I've started playing too human cos I got it free when I bought my new 360 (after last one went belly up) and I think it's ok so far. But why no local co-op?! Nobs.
too many other games that i am more concerned about,if i had more moeny i would get force unleashed day one,but there are other games i would rather spend my pennies on,.....Fable II,Saints Row,GoW2,Dead Space,COD:WaW...force unleashed seems to me like a playthru once kinda deal(prolly 6-8 hrs),and therfor will be picked up much later by me
i mean christ i even want the banjo kazooie game(and the xbox live N64 one)
just way too many games now and the next 3 or 4 months
I can afford this game, along with the others, but probably won't get them all. Two, maybe three at a time, otherwise the old man's going to go ape on me again.
I really wanna buy this game but I just can't afford it. There's just too many games coming out, and as xbox 360 and ps3 games are so expensive to buy at release, i will have to give this game a miss for now. After just pre-ordering Warhammer Online and Fallout 3, this will have to wait till xmas for me.
