LittleBigPlanet has gone gold, Sony has just announced, along with the confirmed dates for the game's release in the different worldwide territories.
Our date still stands as October 24, but the original Oct 29 date announced for Europe has changed to Oct 22. US gets it first on Oct 21.
There's DLC in the pipeline already, too.
"This is only the beginning," said Sony. "We won't be taking it easy just because we have started to manufacture the game! Media Molecule and SCE have a long-term commitment towards expanding the world of LittleBigPlanet and working hard to make sure that our fans get amazing new content and features via PlayStation Network.
"To start with, there will be a free Spaceman costume for Sackboy, perfect for preparing to launch! There will also be a rare "Week One" Sackboy t-shirt to prove that you were there at the start. Both items will be available for a limited time only."
That's pretty cool.
The game comes with over 50 built in levels, as well as the level editor and the soon-to-be-infinite supply of user-created levels online.
Ooft! Was just looking forward to getting a game before the Americans, and then Sony do a U-turn and put us Brit's last in the release line, even after the rest of Europe! And to think that the Dev's own country would get it last!
Well, its a bit s**t that we get it last, even after sony announced we were set to get it before Europe. I guess that sony have nailed down a week and we are just getting it on our normal release date (Friday).
The DLC plans sound good, bit like the Gears of War "Emergence Day" scheme.
I always thought that it was mandatory for games in the EU to be released at the same time and thats why Publishers never just release games in the UK first
does anyone know that sony are doing this thing where they are going to cities in England and basically advertising the game by letting you play and design stuff its amazing its in Manchester at the moment for 3 weeks then it is going London then i dont know but yeah its well good, oh yeah and there is buffet food and free badges and stuff its coool
No idea why that date cycle has occured but considering that we're getting LBP earlier than thhan the original 29th Oct date, it doesn't seem all that bad.
