Halo developer Bungie has started up its next game's teaser campaign (again), after the originally planned reveal was blocked by Microsoft earlier this year.
The now infamous 'superintendent' has appeared on the front of Bungie's website, backing up rumours that the mysterious game could be revealed as soon as this week.
The developer has also confirmed for the first time that the new game, which carries the tagline "keep it clean", does indeed take place in the Halo universe.
In the teaser's fake computer gibberish, which we bet Bungie's best writers spent ages coming up with, the post makes references to the UNSC, the Earth military organisation from the Halo games.
Bungie's new Halo, which Microsoft has already gone on record as happening, is said to be a third-person squad shooter in the style of Ghost Recon. It makes sense, seeing as ex-GRAW creative director Christian Allen is now under Bungie's pay role.
Hopefully we'll see something this week - the relentless teasing is getting annoying now.

I thought the last Halo story was fake computer gibberish! Looking forward to the new game though.
Or it could just be a brand new game set in the Halo universe You know, like Portal for example. Set in the Half-Life universe but doesn't really have anything to do with the game other than it gets mentioned in the form of Black Mesa.
While I'm probably not a massive Halo fan, I do own all 3 and have enjoyed playing them when they came out. I don't really know the story to be fair, I just walk n shoot n drive occaisionally.
This whole "Not another Halo game" thing annoys me though. This kinda thing happens with all popular franchises people, and even some not so popular ones. GTA had a fourth, as did Metal Gear Solid. Grand Tourismo is sitting on 4 and a half just now. Call of Duty is on its 5th and I've got more games with Tom Clancys name on them than I know what to do with. Finally don't get me started on the amount of Mario and Sonic games in the universe. The more games, the better is the way I see it. Gives me plenty of choice. And so far there has only been one Halo game during this current generation of consoles, so why's it a major issue if there's another one? I look forward to seeing this game and I personally hope for a fresh direction rather than just more of the same.
If it is a squad-based shooter then this might be good because we may get to see the invasion of Earth at ground zero which I never did with Halo. I love all the Halo games but in 2, because MC was just so kick-ass and because you had access to high-up military which had a lot more intelligence about what was going on I never really felt the invasion on a human level, when it should be felt and seen more like The War of the Worlds (good examples are the advertising campaign for Halo 3 and the story in the graphic novel about the journalist and the evacuation of New Mombasa).
Hopefully we'll see the invasion through a completely different set of eyes which we can more easily relate to.
Great, a squad based shooter like Ghost Recon I need like a hole in the head. What's the point when we already have GoW on the brainless end and Ghost Recon on the tactical end?!
Plus NPC Team mates are always as thick as pig s**t.
Hmm... BeauBeau is sceptical. Unless he gets to play as a Grunt. It's time for the Grunt Rebellion (alluded to in Halo 2) to get its just game-time, isn't it?
Payroll. Or conceiveably pay-roll. But not 'pay role,' surely?
