The Golden Joystick Awards ceremony will be the funniest ever this year. Fact. Frankie Boyle is hosting the show, and he's funny as f**k.
The Scottish comedian has cracked us up many a times in his appearances on Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You, and will host the Joystick Awards on October 31 at the Park Lane Hilton, London.
With just a few tables remaining, almost 800 guests will be entertained at the event as Frankie Boyle takes time out from his sold-out tour to present the show, which will be streamed live on the Golden Joysticks site.
Watch this sample of his work. You will laugh (although it's not for the kids, okay kids - click off now).
Possibly the funniest man on television right now with Mock The Week.
I saw him last year at the Fringe in Edinburgh and he was amazing. Might be worth tuning into the awards just to hear him rip the gaming industry and Gamers in general to shreds.
Yeah Frankie is a legend although it could be a bit risky having him host it as he doesn't tend to take any prisoners...just don't do the "Diana" joke Frankie!!
I've got tickets to see Frankie Boyle at the Engine Shed in Lincoln, can't wait to go, he's an awesome choice for the Joysticks although it might be a bit R-rated.
He reminds me of the new generation Billy Connolly.
Regarding the Shannon Matthews kidnapping case... "It's my view that the ugly ones always get found, her step-dad probably taped a picture of Maddy McCann to her face."
He reminds me of the new generation Billy Connolly.
I like Frankie Boyle, but he is nothing like Billy Connolly. The only similarity is they are both Scottish and swear a lot.
The key to Billy Connolly, particularly the stuff that made him huge in the late 1970s and early 1980s was his working class observational comedy, the rawness and sometimes absurdness of growing up in this environment.
Frankie Boyle, no doubt influenced by Billy Connolly, as pretty much every comedian would probably say, is a very different kettle of fish. His comedy, like a lot of recent comedians is kind of like a topical tabloid bashing.
I would have loved to have a gay dad. Do you remember at school, there were always kids saying "My dad's bigger than your dad, my dad will batter your dad!" "So what? My dad will shag your dad. And your dad will enjoy it."
I love Frankie, my fav comedian on Mock the Week, which reminds me, must make note to watch tonights show, i always miss it and end up watching it on BBC iPlayer.
