You will be able to use a DualShock 3 to control PSP games thanks to new 'PSP Plus' software, Sony has revealed at the Tokyo Game Show.
PSP Plus will allow PSP users to connect a DS3 controller to the handheld, the obvious benefit being dual-analogue control, but will also support rumble functionality.
We'd think Sony will would need to put out a decent frame to hold the PSP up for you and you grasp the controller, or it could be very uncomfortable.
As it stands, however, the only title to support the new tech is the upcoming Resistance: Retribution, although future titles can support PSP Plus, according to a Joystiq report.
Fingers crossed PSP Plus will become a standard feature of all future PSP games.
Great idea =] It'll work especially well with the TV out option. I always thought the PSP should've had 4 shoulder buttons, especially for ported PS1 games. But hopefully having use of a control pad will sort this out alittle. It'll make running away from battles on Final Fantasy much easier =P
this is finally the reason to get a psp. i dont see the psp as a portable console WHATSOEVER. its incredibly uncomfortable, and takes 5 years to load the games. i can be racing in mario kart ds from power on in 29 seconds flat.
after the psp slim knowin it cud av out was better, but the fact in order to use a pad on it, i had to open up the psp, not something i could be bothered to do. But now it can be done, i can get a psp console, as thats what it is. its just a ps2 slim SLIM
so give the dual shock 3 wirelessly and its sold as i want a docking station for the psp 3000 and wireless pad and i'm good to go!
