Sony has confirmed that UK gamers will be able to get access to the Resistance 2 multiplayer beta by putting in a pre-order for the game at Gamestation.
It doesn't specify how many keys are available, but does warn: "This is a strictly limited offer to anybody quick enough to order Resistance 2 from Gamestation while our stock of beta keys last."
Your pre-order gets you a code to retrieve the beta from the PS Store. Testing got underway on Monday, as we revealed last week.
"The Beta will include competitive maps from three locations in the game where you can battle up to 60 rivals at once. Alternatively you will also be able to battle alongside friends in one of the co-op levels in the game," says Sony.
"Thank you for applying for the Resistance 2 beta" Applying? ...I did? I didn't apply for it, but I'll take it. Will have to trial me some 8-player co-op sometime over the weekend.
A touch behind the times there CVG. Play.com were doing this a while ago and I've been playing the beta for days now.
What do you think about the beta? I love the graphics but it does feel a little light weight to me.I can't see CoD losing any sleep over the multiplayer but the single player game should rock.
It's bit redundant to say a multiplayer game is or isn't going to beat CoD4. Games can stand on their own in this regard can't they? Even if they do crib a few ideas here and there

The 8 player co op is brilliant, if you're with the the right team! The 60 players games could have done with an artillary or air strike every now and then. The complete lack of lag is impressive considering how busy the screen gets.

Damn I wanted the both the single and multi player side of this game to suck. Then I wont feel so down about not being able to get this straight away (by the time I get it now the online will be empty).
