Joysticks: Zelda crowned handheld king

Phantom Hourglass picks up the Bliss Handheld Game of the Year award
Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has been recognised as the Bliss Handheld Game of the Year, and rightly so we think.

The action adventure title, which echoed previous GameCube series entry The Wind Waker in terms of both style and characters, was easily accessible to long-standing Zelda fans and newcomers alike, and has been charming the pants off audiences since its release last year.

Featuring crisp 3D cartoon graphics, a cracking two player battle mode and the ability to play the entire game with only the Nintendo DS touch screen, Phantom Hourglass is without doubt one of the best reasons to pick up a DS if you haven't already.

nSpace developed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for DS took the runner up spot ahead of Square Enix's PSP exclusive Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core.

In a great year for hand-held games this sits correctly on top of the pile. Great choice.
