Someone order Activision a truck. It's going to need one for all its Golden Joysticks after having just taken the final award, the Virgin Media Ultimate Game of the Year, for Call of Duty 4.
The sheer unstoppable might of Activision's shooter this year knocked even the mighty Grand Theft Auto IV down into second. And Hideo Kojima (who's surely watching all this from his penthouse Jacuzzi in Japan) can give himself a pat on the back for Metal Gear Solid 4, which came in third.
I thought the singleplayer experience deserves a solid 9/10. But for me personally, the multiplayer is where it's at. I bought the game on launch, and a year on I'm still lovin' the MP.
COD4. Hmmm. Played it, finished it in a weekend on Hardened. Left it. Not even tried multiplayer.
Dear, dear God.
Why on earth would you do that?!
Its probably got the best online multiplayer of any game ever made. Actually, you can take the 'probably' out of that sentence.
Indeed. It's certainly my favourite online FPS that's ever been made!
Have you tried Quatum of Solace yet?
I took a huge risk getting it, but Im quite glad I did so far.
Single player is what you'd expect of a bond game, but online is basically COD4 with a bond mod.
Im well impressed with the online so far. You earn credits to buy guns, which is quite like XP in COD. You can also get gadgets and stuff too. The proximity mine from Goldeneye is there too.
Its gonna get poor reviews, but the online is really good. Defo worth a rent anyway.
That's pretty pathetic, Call of Duty 4 was good, but not that good. I mean the story is well paced and exciting, but it's only 4 hours long. The multiplayer is massively popular, but after all, all you do is shoot people in the face over and over again, and I bet that's what got it all the votes.
What about Bioshock eh? What about MGS 4?
Let me guess, not popular multiplayer, no votes, I say that's bulls**t. Games are getting votes from internet people that won't stop burning their brain online to play something intelligent.

Sorry about this rant, I'm in a bad mood.
It's a 4 hour game that I've played through 5 or 6 times now, and as for the multi-player? you could say the same about any FPS, including counter strike. Maybe you should try playing headquarters mode, maybe you'll get hooked too.
