4000 Age of Conans nicked in Bradford

Look out for a massive LAN party
Police in Bradford are on the hunt for a gang of game thieves who made off with 4000 copies of Age of Conan on PC.

Two pallets of games went missing from the back of a lorry some time between 10pm on Tuesday, October 28, and 7am on Wednesday. With an RRP of £39.99 each, we make that out as £159,960 worth of goods. Ouch.

Police are calling for witnesses, reports Telegraph & Argus, but maybe they should look on eBay, or at Stratford computer fair in east London.

So, thieves have nicked 4000 copies of an MMO where each copy has a unique (I assume) identifier and to use, you have to register on-line.

I would suggest that is not a massive problem for the police or FunCom. Question

I live near Bradford - I suppose my LAN party's off until they find the *real* criminals...
Spoon-man on 4 Nov '08
One way Funcom can shift the unwanted copies of the game, I suppose. Bet the thieves were gutted; 4000 copies of an unfinished game.

They're doing the world a favour.

They're going to be well p**sed off when they start playing, or try to sell them on.

They'd be better off robbing a burger king.

I think the police need look no further than the local recycle point, its obvious that the bin men took them away and too right! What an awful game.
Oneohfour on 4 Nov '08
I think the police want their identities so they can point and laugh then thank them for taking rubbishy games of the street.

If they could find one, they seem to close a BK every other day.

Bradford is a sh!thole, anyone parking up overnight there gets what they deserve if you ask me.

Man, took ages to finally bait a fan boy. Although it's not hate, just plain facts. As for Metacritic and the likes, remember the vast majority of reviews failed to get much past the first 20 levels. Which were, conveniently, the only finished portions of the game. If levels levels 21-80 were equally polished, AoC wouldn't be the joke it currently is.

But hey, great you're enjoying it, like. And contributing a monthly fee to help Funcom actually achieve the dream of a complete game.
