Screenshots have emerged showing supposed Gears of War 2 downloadable content, with multiplayer maps not available in the retail version.
The eight screenshots which you can see on this page appeared on various forums this morning, showing a multiplayer match on an unrecognisable map with glowing immulsion.
Microsoft expectedly isn't saying anything, but with Epic's long history of awesome DLC it probably isn't far-fetched to put money on these being real.
Why didn't any of the launch maps have the yellow stuff in them, anyway? It's not as if (potential spoiler) you're not walking past it for a third of the single-player campaign...
I agree. I really enjoy multiplayer games on Gears 2, but it can take ages to find a game. Longest to me was about 45 mins, have dinner, take my take my dog out, and STILL haven't found a game. Its just annoying.
i have to say that i haven't had that many probs with the matchmaking side of things, about 5 mins has been the longest. i think if your going it alone it may take a while to squeeze you into a game but it seems to be a lot faster if your already in a group with friends as that seems to only take a minute. still need to find that bloody hammer of dawn for my weapons achievement.
I was drifting in and out of the room checking every few mins. There was no way I was going to sit there and stare at that bloody lobby screen for an hour and a half. Horde is awesome though (once you get in that is).
Don't need more maps yet, we need a patch to fix the ruined multiplayer first.
see i don't see where its ruined, i actually think its more balanced. the shotty isn't the all-killing weapon it used to be and i love the game for that. it was always the weapon of choice because it usually killed everyone with one shot, 9 times out of 10 if it was boomshot vs shotty the player with the shotty would win

It need more Horde modes. Nobody,and I mean NOBODY,plays the other MP modes (not even Warzone). How about letting us BE the Horde? How cool would it be to control a Tickler and then sneak behind some guy and detonate it? BOOM!
I also think multiplayer is better this time, the shotgun was far too powerful last time, i do agree about it taking time to find a new match, always seeing that 'Restarted by remote host'.

nah its just the one with the shotgun would dive forward roll missing the boomshot then turn however was holding it into mush with one blast. i'm really enjoying MP with gears 2 and i ended up really hating the first one after a few weeks, even after all the updates i still found the game very unbalanced. this time round though i can see myself happily playing gears until at least after crimbo, and if they update horde mode with new levels every so often i can see myself playing indefinitely

well that ain't exactly true now is it, i was playing warzone and wingman a lot over the weekend. i think that a lot of people are just into playing horde just now, once they get the 50 levels achievement most of them will be straight back to VS MP.

christ, im only just getting used to the gears 2 maps..... security and avalanche are the dogs nuts for horde (translates to easiest)!!!! anyone up for some horde feel free to add me to your friends list (see below for my tag)....
