Destroy all Humans PS3 NOT cancelled

In Europe at least, THQ confirms
The just-canned PS3 version of Destroy all Humans: Path of the Furon will in fact see a European release, THQ has just confirmed.

The North American game was said to have got the chop on Sony's platform due to unspecified "development issues", but the European release of both Xbox 360 and PS3 SKUs will go ahead next year.

"Destroy all Humans: Path of the Furon will be released on both the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 formats on February 13th 2009 across Europe," a THQ rep confirmed.

"Due to the game being shipped earlier in North America on 2nd December a decision was made to proceed exclusively with the Xbox 360 format in that market"

There you are then. Don't sell your consoles just yet.

Will it actually be any good though?

Seems a bit odd that they wouldn't just announce that it was delayed in the states considering the PS3 isn't region locked.

Sounds like a stupid decisions to me. Its not like they're making much money as it is!

Can't wait.
Mark240473 on 28 Nov '08
Looks like a completely random decision by THQ then - lets face it, the difference between the US and Euro version of this game would be negligable (if there at all). *shrug*

I'm still not going to buy it - meh

following up on my 'worst.exclusive.ever' comment at yesterday's story....

Brilliant Rolling Eyes I really loved the first game, but am not at all excited about this one because of the average second game. It's really odd to make region-exclusive software though, you'd think they'd be able to just release a UK version in America anyway...

One I'll still avoid but I do wonder why yesterday it was claimed to be because of development problems...

Will it actually be any good though?

It's going to clash with some big hitters on both systems. Killzone2, Halo Wars, GTA4 DLC, inFamous and for some reason Play.com have started taking pre orders for Gran Turismo 5 for release in March.

That's ok THQ, you keep it.

Only 6 weeks a go you ought to see what they had for release in November...you could still pre-order Afrika, Gran Turismo 5, Resident Evil 5, Killzone 2 and loads more. It was ridiculous.

its still only getting a rental from me

I pre ordered Killzone 2 about two months ago on Play.com. The release date then was March '09.

Blimey, if GT5 was due out in March I would be ecstatic. My steering wheel is quivering with excitement.

I very much doubt it, but then I do believe that Japan may see it as early as March. Late summer for UK, I reckon.

Looks like next year could be better than this year. Cripes!

I can't see it. I think we'd be seeing a lot more of it if it was. Although I hate to agree with Almanac Play.coms release dates are about as accurate as a cross eyed sniper high on cocaine and brandy.

Heheh - agreed. Laughing

Good news for Eruo PS3 gamers. Destroy all humans is quite fun. Bad news for North American PS3 gamers, though. I wonder what's going on with that? they should be nearly identical...
