Wii is eBay's most wanted

With Wii Fit taking second place in most searched for
Nintendo Wii fever is showing no signs of dying as the little white console was the most searched for product on eBay during Black Friday - the first shopping day following Thanksgiving in the States.

3,171 Wii units were sold on the day at an average selling price of $349, which is $100 more than the console's recommended retail price.

Wii Fit came in second place, with 1,059 units sold on the site for an average of $140, even though the RRP is under $100.

PS3 and Rock Band bundles were also listed amongst the "most popular" gifts based on the weekend's eBay shopping activity.

"Results from Black Friday show that shoppers continue to turn to the web for their holiday shopping needs, especially for consumer electronics," said eBay marketplace expert Jim Griffith. How do you even get to be an eBay expert?

Last month we also reported that Wii Fit and Wii topped the list of most searched for consumer products on the internet in the run-up to Christmas.

Nintendo's now shipping 2.4 million Wiis a month to retail, but if you can't find one in time for Christmas don't say you weren't warned.

I would be ebay'ing mine if i wasn't giving it to my little sisters for their xmas pressie.

The missus banged on and on to get one and i crumbled so have had one for a few months now, and guess what!?... She never plays it... no one in our household plays it. Hopefully they should get some use out of it.

I have games I have yet to finish and more on my list to buy. I guess I don't have the time to play as many games as other people.

I will add though, that I own about the same amount of games for this console as I have others in the same time period... apart from the SNES. I had a hell of a lot of games back then. That era was probably the best for gaming in my opinion.
