Ghostbusters coming summer 2009

Atari nails down launch of sweet-looking game revival
The wicked-looking new Ghostbusters game will launch on just about every current platform in June 2009, Atari has just confirmed.

"Ghostbusters: The Video Game is a fantastic addition to Atari's global line-up in 2009," said a seemingly pleased Phil Harrison when Atari picked up the rights to the game last month.

The game sounds great, too. Here's the official blurb: "Ghostbusters: The Video Game was penned by original Ghostbusters writers Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd and reunites members of the original cast for the first time in 20 years.

Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson lend their voices and in-game likenesses to the original story set two years after Ghostbusters II, with Manhattan once again overrun by ghosts and supernatural forces.

The game also features performances from fan favourites such as William Atherton (Walter Peck), Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz) and Brian Doyle-Murray (portraying Mayor Jock Mulligan).

Ghostbusters is coming to PS3, PS2, 360, PC, Wii and DS.

If there's something strange in your neighbourhood who you gonna call? Atari, that's who.

Can't wait for this one, I'm oozing with anticipation. And a little ectoplasm.

Hopefully they can get the motion controls spot on for the wii version, unlike other third party efforts. Very Happy

Sounds good. I think the fact that they've gone the whole nine yards to get the actual original actors voices, is gonna be a huge step and the fans will love that. I would definitely like to see a demo, before I decide whether to purchase it.
