Valve fixes Left 4 Dead cheats

It's not big. Or clever...
Valve has moved quickly to crush the legion of cheaters spoiling the awesome fun that is Left 4 Dead online.

We reported yesterday that a crew of modders had uncovered a way to modify the 360 version, enabling users to alter the game's settings at will. Check out the video below.

Valve has since released a "server-side fix to deny the recently reported cheats on all dedicated Left 4 Dead Xbox 360 servers".

According to the dev the fix is designed to halt the cheating behaviour on the dedicated servers, which accounts for the majority of the co-op and Versus modes of play. "A title update for those playing on user-hosted servers and/or via system link will be released in the coming days."

But the cheats still work? That's good. At least people can still mess around if they want to without ruining other people's experiences. It's something I'll probably be trying out when I get the game Smile

hope so. There's nothing wrong with creating good old fashioned chaos offline.

Good work Valve.

They dont seem to be cheats as such, apart from the godmode, but just funny things that can be done with the engine.
