New Heavy Rain shots

First look at some new environments and another male character
Here are the first images of Heavy Rain that aren't of that scene from the taxidermist's house in that Leipzig demo that got everyone so excited.

The detail in the face of that new, unnamed bloke is incredible, and there are three shots of some previously unseen environments, too.

They seem to be as developer Quantic Dreams described - reasonably compact but filled with detail, and it should all be interactive if the game lives up to promises.

The images (from 1Up) don't give anything away, plot-wise though. We're itching to know more. Roll on 2009.

You can see the entire Leipzig demo in video right here. If you haven't you really should check it out.

Look lovely (especially that face), though not entirely exciting...

Very nice detail for this console game. I'd be interested in seeing a PC port though I don't know how realistic that is.

Blooooooooooooom!

I read the 1UP Preview and Im more confused about the game than ever before. It looks stunning and it is really going for the photo realistic look, that along with a good in depth story interests me but then the Devs said that you wouldnt need any gaming experience to play the game itself.

Mmmmmmmm.

I reckon I need to see the game being played properly but it is deffo intriguing.

is the house on image 1 meant to be a toy house or something because it looks damn small to me compared to everything else? weird.

the other shots look pretty damn good though.

Garden scene NEEDS MOAR BLOOM!

That 2nd shot looks like like a cleaner version of the station at the start of HL2 Smile

Never played a bad quantic dream game. Weird and artsy. but thats what i like from time to time.

too sterile .

Yeah, have to agree that they do look "too clean" and "sterile" and definitely not upto the other previously shown screen grabs!

The reason I am so excited about Heavy Rain is because the story caters for adults. I read a lot of books and none of them require you to shoot, jump on or kick somebody/something to enjoy them immensely.

I believe that as long as this game has a great story, that keeps me hooked from start to finish, I'll be a happy gamer. And the fact that you can twist the story as you play through means that you can enjoy it all again!

My missus will no doubt get involved with it as well as it seems like a game that anybody can pick up and play.

have you played farenheiht?

Yep, played it on the original xbox. Really cool game and I enjoyed the character interactions and plot quite a lot. The ending was a bit crazy, but overall, I thought it was a classy piece of software. It had a great opening as well, so I am hopeful that Heavy Rain will be similar in approach.

Did you enjoy it?

thankfully the head designer cant remember his name has said that he felt ferenheit needed that silly alien stuff to appeal to gamers but now knows it was a mistake, he said there will be no fantasy or sci fi elements in Heavy Rain which is Great and very refreshing.

Really impressive screenshots there, very early days but i hope it has a steady framerate

Yeah, that bit was tense! And the small things, like playing the guitar and wooing the girlfriend were great. I was actually quite shocked when they got it on! Laughing

I did mention when the first set of screen shots were put on here that everything looked a bit "perpendicular". Everything looks like it has an edge that could cut you.

I still think it'll be a great game for you ps3 owners, and if they're putting this much thought into making it graphically excellent, you'd expect they're putting in an equal amount of work into the story line.

As it looks like a first rate game, I hope it gets a better bit of marketing than the recently released, and awesome LBP has done in recent weeks. I have customers comin into the store only knowing that "an australian dudes dog gets run over by a car and is eerily happy about it."

If there becomes a package on a PS3 available(when all games are released of course) which contains the PS3, LBP, Heavy Rain, and God Of War 3....I'll be at the front of the queue for it!
