The first images of Forza Motorsport 3 have leaked onto the internet, showing 'menu poster' art set to appear in Turn 10's third Xbox-exclusive racer.
The images were accidentally (we assume) released by design company Kaarbo Designs, which was signed up to scribble the menu art of all previous Forza games. Maybe they should've waited for it to be announced before showing off...
Of course it's not the first we've heard of the third instalment either; another MS leak last summer listed the game for release and revealed that Forza 3 will include over 100 tracks and 400 cars on a two-disc set.
We contacted Microsoft which promptly told us it doesn't comment on rumour or speculation. We do though, and it looks like Forza 3 is absolutely, definitely, 100% real.
Well, of course it's real....there's no way they weren't going to make a third game.
Obviously, you can't really take an awful lot from some menu pics, but I can't wait for this - I wonder when it'll actually be released?....2009 perhaps?
If this can make it out this year, then Happy Days and over 400 Tracks? Sounds awesome!
I think you mean 100 tracks. And even this is a high number. I actually prefer less tracks in a racing game because otherwise it is very difficult to become good on all of them! I had my favourite tracks in GT4, such as Laguna Seca, but I never got to grips with them all.
I'd rather have 20-30 top quality tracks, personally.
Gran Turismo 2 had over 600 cars. I'm always disapointed when car games don't match it. No Gran Turismo game has matched 600 since and it feels like going backwards despite visual improvements. 100 tracks tracks translates to me as 100 variations of 20 tracks which is still good in my opinion. I think M$ should put more effort into selling Forza because it's seen as a budget title and not a system seller but as far as I know it has no equal on the 360.
Well I'm pretty sure Turn10 actually confirmed the game ages ago, but they've not given any details.
400 cars is the current estimate, but 100 tracks might be a bit much. Even 100 combos is a hell of a lot, although possible (if you consider the 10 on the FM2 Test Track, 3 on Silverstone, etc).
I'm just hoping for weather effects and dynamic time of day this time. Constant dry/fine gets a little dull. I'm not talking full snow effects (although it'd be good), but rain and night would be good.

Saying that, the more cars the better!
I stand corrected. Its still way early in the new year for me to be working and trying to comment on this site as well.
And as long as they nail all the tracks I wont be too fussed if they have similarities with them, the more the better for me, to many Racers in the past have been bereft of tracks.

I know what you mean! Just avoid the 'doom and gloom' stories at all costs....
My new years resolution was to be more positive. Nothing big, sure, but I am going to keep this smile on my face no matter what this year throws at me!
And the little matter of my little Katie being born in approximately 3 weeks..... Definitely opened my eyes! You'll certainly not be getting any more negative comments from me - and the winner of this silly console war is low on my priorities at the minute.
Nothing will stop me loving the games though...
Oh, and looking forward to Forza 3. I just hope one of them (GT5 too) turns up this year.

Well, best wishes when the Stork arrives Mark, less gaming time for you coming up now . I also agree completley! Im going to stay out of the Fanboy Bitchfests this year unless of course it's too funny to ignore (which sometimes they are!).
Its looking like another good year to be a Gamer no matter what platform you want to play on and as you say, it's all about the games, it's all about the games!
im looking forward to this game, ive played the second game to death, still playing it to collect the all of the cars, not many left to own now in it.
As for it being 2 discs, they should just make it 3 discs, that way they can have the whole game devided into the 3 zones that make it up, america, europe and asia each with just cars and tracks from them regions, think about it, it will allow for for all manner of weather effects, more cars and more tracks.
cant wait to see what people to do with the paintjobs on this thing again.
Our little girl Eryn was born 11 weeks ago. We have had a fairly easy ride with her, and with the other half taking care of the feeding etc as she is the one with the boobs, you can sometimes feel like a bit of a third wheel... I'm lucky that I have a den to retreat to when there is a quiet moment, so I have managed to juggle my daughter, my missus and my games quite well (not literally you understand, that would just be mean).
As for Forza, I've always loved the Forza games, and number 3 was inevitable. GT5... I'm not so sure on. Prologue was so dry my TV colapsed into a heap of dust as soon as I booted it up, and it fundamentally hasn't ever changed, apart from getting shinier and shinier. I hope to be proven wrong though, with Forza and GT5 both in the pipeline, we are the real winners... Or at least would be if we weren't all broke.
They are slightly different games though. GT5P with Sim physics on is great and feels every bit as nice as Forza 2 with no driving aids. It's missing damage of course, but the driving model is pretty similar for both of them.
I see what GT5 fans said about FM2 though - the tracks do feel really static in comparison. That's easily solved though.
Day/night, weather and a damage model like Grid (although a little harder to actually rip your wheels off) and FM3 would be perfect. Maybe dynamic AI that actually fights amongst itself and gets better as you improve. Maybe some extra online modes (Cat & Mouse is always fun).
c**kpit view would be great, but only if it feels nice to drive. I find most new game c**kpit views focus too much on the details inside the car instead of giving you a decent view out of the windows.
Thanks everybody. It's good to know that some people are in the same boat! I'll try to get a bit of gaming in between nappie changes, but I don't expect to be pulling off any serious combos in SF4 in the near future...
Here's to the future. *Raises imaginary glass to CVG and all (yes, even Tonyb and Suiv) forum peeps*
I meant what I said about the list of jobs by the way... I swear there was a period of about 6 weeks where there wasn't a thing my wife said to me that didn't start with 'Darling, is there any chance you could...'

Haha. Believe me, the missus calls the shots in our house! I've already re-decorated 3 rooms in the past couple of months. Next is the kitchen and then the garden...

Pfft, my gf is the same and we don't even have any kids
