Sony: 'No announcements planned'

Yesterday's rumoured PS3-exclusive not a first-party title then?
The Dutch Official PlayStation Magazine sparked mass speculation yesterday when it claimed to feature a big new PS3-exclusive title in its next issue, but Sony has told CVG that's it's not a first-party title.

DOPM said in a teaser for its next issue that it was travelling to LA to see the game, offering the only hint as to which studio it might be.

Sony UK has, however, told CVG that the supposed revelation isn't anything to do with them, saying: "we don't have any announcements planned at the moment," suggesting it'll be a third-party title.

Or it could be so top secret that SCEA hasn't even told anyone outside the States about it yet. The sort of secret only Jack Bauer can find out.

It's still exciting nonetheless.

really. A game is being developed for the PS3 i knew that decent games for the system are a little thin on the ground, but surely the news of a company developing something for it isn't that amazing.

Now a sneak peak at the next gen of consoles. that'd be exciting.

@ voodoo341 : too right!
and saying decent ps3 games are a little thin on the ground is very harsh, considering the amount of top class titles relased this christmas, although most were multi platform. in fact exclusive titles for 360 and ps3 were a bit limited (in numbers, not quality)
collyboy187 on 7 Jan '09
Shame, I was hoping for another awesome exclusive to shift more PS3s off the shelves
smithster118 on 7 Jan '09
Exclusives alone :
Uncharted, MGS4, RFOM 2, Gran turismo, KZ2, heavy Rain, God of War III. Then of course all the great games that the PS3 shares with the XBOX, like the wonderful Dead space.

Why do people keep trying to repeat the same argument about the PS3's lack of decent games, it simply is not true anymore.

It's because the sony fanyboys keep coming up with the same old crap about the 360. RROD that is no longer an issue with the newer consoles, and a 3 yr warranty for those that are effected. Complaining that xbox users have to pay for online and then in the next sentence the ps3 is worth the extra money because it's better quality.
Come up with something new to bitch about and we will do the same.

Fear 2 will wipe the floor with Killzone 2 this feb. There. I said it.
360_Fan on 8 Jan '09
ok 1 the new 360's with the jasper motherboard still have RROD i had one last week there just not as frequent.
2 the 360 scratches the f**k out of every disk you put in there i played gears 2 so much it wont work anymore had to get a new one from EB after not even a month. ive never scratched a ps3 disk and thats even after using dead space as a frisby
blind_fools on 8 Jan '09
So you will get it fixed for free and they will give you a free month of live. Still an old issue that we have all heard about.

I think your the one scratching the discs. You just admitted yourself that you used one a a frisbe. Just shows how much care you take of your discs. I'll hire 2 day old movie from the video store and often it will not run because of the amount of scratches on it. Your probably one of the people that do this to movies also. If you thought it was an issue then I asume you would of mentioned it when organising to repair your console. They probably laughed their bottoms off at you if you said anything like you just said to me.

Think of something that affects you personally and not what you read on the internet.

YaY!

I can't wait to get excited about a game I haven't even seen yet...

Wonder if it could be LA Noire? Confused
dodgy1 on 8 Jan '09
Sony are responding to the speculation around the Dutch Playstation Magazine's response. At no point, did they mention 'We're working on a game for the PS3, but that's all we'll say.'

It's comments on speculation around a legitimate unveiling to come.....the flame war was NOT necessary.....I honestly think some of you troll the s**t out of CVG JUST to take the p**s out of their articles. Rolling Eyes

I hope not. I'd love to believe that LA Noire will be both PS3 and 360.

Smile
ParmaViolet on 8 Jan '09
Think LA Noire is being developed in Australia at Team Bondi so I cant see it being that, plus apparently its no longer PS3 exclusive. Hope its not an anti-climax whatever it is, altho it probably will be!
mclevy4 on 8 Jan '09
no learn to read properly i said ps3 disks all the mulitplat games i get on ps3.
i remember getting ninja gaiden 2 day of release bought the $5 game garuntee took it home played it for a bit than turned the console off went back the next day and it wouldent work because it was scratched as hell.
