LucasArts has released the first screenshots and details on long, long coming Indiana Jones game, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings.
Apparently the WII and PSP game (still no sign of the next-gen version) will feature "completely interactive environments" where players can use scenery as a weapon in order to dispense of foes in "clever and unexpected" ways. Sounds a bit Bourne to us.
LucasArts also promises "thrilling action sequences" that remain true to the spirit established in scenes such as Indy's pursuit of the motorcade in Raiders of the Lost Ark, the mine-cart scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and the free-for-all aboard the tank in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Excitingly 1992 classic Indy graphical adventure game Fate of Atlantis is also promised as an unlockable. It's looking quite good then. Now can we have the PS3 and 360 versions, please?

The PSP (PlayStationPortable) system version features six robust types of burst gameplay including combat and physics challenges, puzzles and the trademark Indiana Jones chase sequences.
I don't think it looks bad at all. In fact its probably the first game for the Wii that interests me. I would consider buying a Wii if this game lives up to its potential.
I don't think it's that bad, but it doesn't smack of the latest and greatest console graphics. Nevermind cutting edge PC standards...Could be a fun game though and that's just as important as a pleasing aesthetics in my opinion.
it may not be a PS2, but the PSP pretty much is, and it's very unlikely that they're making seperate models for each. that's the price of cross platform development. and if you wanted pretty graphics you should have bought a PS3 or 360, or a PC.
Some of the backgrounds look ok but the characters look very poor. Please put a bit more effort in lucas arts, I know it is all about the gameplay, but if they are as lazy as this on the graphics then I do not hold out much hope for good gameplay. The only positive is that it comes with a copy of fate of atlantis(which I loved).
Also CVG I am sure that they will have a job developing for next gen consoles when the they have not even developed dev packs yet. PS4, the next xbox and the next nintendo console are a while off yet.
And one other thing CVG. The wii is as much a current gen console as the ps3 and 360. Graphical power is not the only thing that makes a generational jump (You are getting as bad as the PS3 and 360 fanboys!).
nice to see a 3rd party completely going against the grain and releasing a built from the ground up wii game designed to take full advantage of the hardware.
thanks high voltage
lucasarts can f*ck themselves if they think i'm parting with money for this sh*t.
Hopefully the game will look better in action. However its also on the PSP. Hopefully these are shots of that an not the wii version.. If they merely made one graphical version for both the PSP and wii i'll be disappointed.
Gameplaywise this sounds fun and Having the Fate of Atlantis bundled with it makes the deal even more sweeter.

No, the price of shoddy development & failing to make decent assets for the Wii is not one I pay, but one LucasArts will pay in terms of lost sales.
It does. Haven't you reqad about the new annoying side kicks system. player 2 can be indy's gereatric father, screaching wife ot an annoying chinese kid.
It's a gamecube. But even that is capable of better graphics than this.
I'd rather it be nearer in capabilities to the GameCube than the PS2, given that the GameCube was a more powerful console. I'm surprised you didn't know that.
Try comparing both versions of Resident Evil 4 if you don't believe me.
Glad I'm not the only one offended by that part of the article. As has been pointed out, graphics are not the sole factor which determines what generation a console belongs too. The motion control technology is the technical advancement that Nintendo focused on this time out. It's the same generation as PS3 and 360, regardless of whether the graphics are as snazzy or not. So correct the article!
Anyway, the fact that LucasArts are finally releasing one of their awesome point and click adventures on the Wii - even in such a roundabout way - is enough of a reason to buy this...
FATE OF ATLANTIS people......... Man I loved that game. Stop whining about the graphics. Graphics do not a good game make. They help granted but I would much rather the game was fun. Its like saying the new mummy film is good because it looks pretty on Blu-Ray. The Wii is NEVER gonna compete on graphics so why bother wasting time and effort tarting them up and forgetting the gameplay

For all the people saying "Graphics don't make a game, gameplay does", well that is good and all but making it look like a 10 year old title just screams laziness. The Wii isn't all that weak and yet people continue to not even push the envelope graphically. Graphics can add to gameplay as much as any good mechanic can. I make games, I should know.

I think he does know that, thats his point, reread it
