Update! We were right to trust these, Valve have just come clean and added the full descriptions to the Scout update site. The new shotgun is called the 'Force-A-Nature'. Original post below.
Russian site www.hl-inside.ru has posted descriptions for the achievements named in yesterdays Scout update preview. They don't say where they got them, but translated by Boilman on the Steam forums, they have the distinct ring of authenticity. Some hint at the third unlockable, some suggest how the Sandman stun will work, and some are just really cool achievements.
Enough preamble, here are the juicy ones:
Beanball: Stun scout with his own ball Sandman balls can be hit back by other Scouts! Presumably not by other class's melee weapons though.
Out of the Park: Bat the enemy so he flies 25 meters Evidently batting a stunned enemy actually sends them through the air. That much is strongly suggested by the icon for this one.
Pop Fly - Die because of double-barreled shotgun's recoil A shotgun so powerful it hurts you to fire it? This could get interesting with the Scout's modest health but knack for reaching medkits quickly.
Retire the Runner - Kill 10 slowed down Scouts Update! As ad_hominem points out in the comments, this must refer to the slowdown the Scout experiences after the Bonk! energy drink wears off.
Caught Napping - Kill 50 enemies by shooting them in the back with the double-barreled shotgun It's possible this new ultra-shotgun does extra damage from the back, or - more likely given the name - this is just an achievement for catching people unawares.
That's it for the good stuff. But the rest are intelligent, reasonable, sometimes funny achievements that make it very easily to believe all these are real. A Year To Remember, for example, is described as awarded for killing 2004 enemies in total - the year the Red Sox won the World Series for the first time since 1918. That's the kind of smart detail you don't expect to see in a hoax, even a good one.
Cheers to Boilman for roping a Russian-speaker in to translate: Google really struggles with the original article.
The acheivement description "Kill 10 slowed down Scouts" could be referring to the after affects of the Energy drink, rather than the stunning from the sandman.
I wonder if Beanball with work with the airblast? I doubt it will, but I hope the airblast can at least stop them.
Quick Hook also seems to suggest that Valve are actively encouraging pre-round Well attacks, rather than just letting them continue. (Kill an enemy on the Well before the round starts.)
