Call of Duty: WaW map pack dated

Four new maps up for grabs next week
Treyarch will release the first downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: World at War next week.

Available from March 19 on 360 and PS3, the DLC will feature four new multiplayer maps. "Stay tuned for PC details as well," says the developer, which also confirmed that a co-op enabled 360 exclusive demo of "Hard Landing" from the game's single player campaign will release today.

Here's the official description of what the DLC will consist of:

  • "Station" offers a bombed out underground train station littered with destroyed subway cars, hidden passageways, loading platforms and second story overlooks. This medium sized map is perfect for dominating Capture the Flag and other team games and provides a wide range of combat options from close range choke points to hidden sniper spots.
  • Fire-bombed Berlin provides the backdrop for "Nightfire," an intense battlefield for mid to large-scale team games. Shelled buildings and ruins of the city provide coverage among the war-ravaged streets, and the flames of the burning city expose the enemy running through the night. Fight for your life knowing that this fiery urban battlefield may soon be your grave.
  • "Knee Deep" takes place on the island of Peleliu in a once tranquil village turned chaotic Japanese command center. Aiming to retrieve the valuable intel housed in the command post, troops fight through the jungle, wade knee deep in streams and take battle positions in fortified Japanese bunkers to secure this important communication center. Ideal for all combat scenarios and designed for larger team games and objective matches.
  • The fan favorite 4-player co-op Nazi Zombies Bonus Mode returns with "Verrückt," a terrifying Zombie asylum located in the outskirts of Berlin. The map splits the four players into pairs, challenging the two teams to find each other for survival. Featuring more weapons, perks via the addition of Perks-a-Cola machines, electroshock defenses and the endless Nazi Zombie horde, "Verrückt" will push you to the edge of your sanity.

I played COD5 online last night for about an hour. I'm a bleeding killing machine after spending the last 2 weeks on Killzone.

well hopefully when i get back on COD i'll have improved as i struggled to get bloody 5 kills in a row. after playing killzone last night i think i managed to kill more people in about an hours play of warzone than i have in 3 weeks of COD. have to say though that warzone is probably the best idea to come to the FPS genre in ages and i can certainly see a lot of people copying the formula. its just non stop killing

Sorry this is totally off topic but have any other members been having connection issues with COD5 on the PS3 and in particular extreme lag in game? It seems to have got notebly worse over the last week and a half.
STORMPILOT on 12 Mar '09
i shall be getting these, 3 of my mates are all ebaying KZ2 and im on the fence about it now after having completed the campaign, im waiting for my controller to come next week for my ps3 and see how i get on with KZ2 multiplayer when ive got that, something just seems broke about kz2 multiplayer that i cant put my finger on...

KZ2 was much better on my second playthrough.

wasnt amazed with it first time around.

im on elite difficulty and just over half way through it. great challange but never cheap or unfair (CoD veteran mode, yes you!)

amazing on a hard difficulty. every move you make and every shot has an impact. elite difficulty brings this game to life. forces you to use tactics.

HELLO?!!!!

p**s off somewhere else and tell someone who cares about Killzone 2. I suggest a forum for prepubescent inadiqates.

This is obviously a story about COD:WW, no mention of KZ2 was made in the story at all.

Now go away and let the adults talk about games.

Not a fan of Killzone 2 myself. Completed it on Sunday night and I prefer the online mode of COD. Quick, frantic and fun, I will be getting these as soon as they come out.

killzone 2 online is very different to the offline game. takes less bullets to drop someone.

its actually very like CoD4 multiplayer. but lets face it CoD:WAW is toss. CoD4 is probably more popular.

i think the campaign is brilliant and i had real fun with it (apart from inside the palace before fighting radec or whatever his name is, almost sent me over the edge lol), its the multiplayer i have the issue with, just doesnt feel or play right for me, although im giving it the benefit of the doubt and waiting for my saitek controller to arrive before i pass final judgement on wether i assign kz2 to the trade-in counter.

Speak for yourself and not try speak for the community as an whole,
Obviously World at War is doing something right if the server has over 100 thousand people across the world playing it constantly.
Retarded and narrow minded kids these days.

Thanks for the update CVG.

will people please just stop complaining about this. Treyarch are giving us more stuff for our game for free. This is not the time to start saying what is btter than what, just that this is a company that acctually wants people to have fun.

STOP FLAMING DLCS AND MAP PACKS!!!
ding333 on 12 Mar '09
