Killzone 2 patch this week

Online-related fixes coming in patch 1.21
Guerrilla Games has confirmed plans to release a patch for Killzone 2 "early" this week, ironing out some of the game's most prominent online bugs.

Here's the list of changes straight from producer, Seb Downie:

  • Increase of the standard points settings for Bodycount. Should ensure longer mode on heavily populated games.
  • The return of Online Bots. Adding bots to an online game renders it 'unranked'.
  • The option to create unranked games. Players will be made aware that a game is unranked upon joining.
  • Fix to Game Search functionality so correct maps are displayed.
  • Standardization of the Y-Axis controls on the HGH Scout when zoomed with the Sniper Rifle.
  • Fix to Sensitivity setting where the weapon animation did not follow the reticule correctly.
  • Fix for auto-aim exploit when rapidly tapping zoom/fire.
  • Fix to infrequent collision issues with C4 Proximity mines.
  • Fix to list of games displayed on search.
  • Stability fix relating to disconnect.
  • Fix to 'Clan' button functionality in custom game creation settings.

Downie went on to detail possible changes being considered for a future patch, including control tweaks, more game creation and game search options and various other online tweaks. This, he reaffirms, is entirely separate from the DLC planned, which is yet to be detailed on the official forum.

Mechs and tanks please in the DLC

^^Above suggestions sounds good, perhaps some large scale DLC would hit the mark too Wink

I personally love the controls, set them to Alternate 2 and blast away happily. They feel precise and tight, plus the weighty feel is excellent, truly makes it feel like a next-gen game Very Happy

I'll give the online another week after this patch see how it goes ,if i'm still switching it of after 2 hours with a migraine then it'll have to go .

^ Huh?

Still no God damn party system.

PSN might be catching up with Live but it's still fundamentally lacking in two or three key areas and first/third party devs don't seem to be working around it by introducing their own party systems.

Gripe over. BTW where the hell is CVGT nowadays? Not many people even seem to play the game anymore.

I'm just hoping they give an option for looser controls at some point. When you run, its great, and it reacts well, but when you're walking, it still feels a bit sluggish. It's OK at the moment, but if they improve that at some point, then I'll be online more.

Yeah CVGT is going to have to start issuing a few matches. I eased off on KZ after I reached the General rank, going to have to get stuck into it again.

only prob im really happy thats geting fixed is the sniper prob. It really gets annoying after a while.

Sort out the f**king assault class. I don't care about other tweaks, they're not hindering me one bit (as those who played me yesterday will know Wink )

I really don't want mechs, it'll be the next cheap trick that people will use.

Party system needs to be fixed, and also hopes the stability of servers works.
