DSi Shop gets weekly game updates

New handheld gearing up for release this Friday
Nintendo of America has confirmed that it will add new games to the DSi Shop on a weekly basis following the handheld's release later this week.

"Like the Wii Shop Channel, the Nintendo DSi Shop will offer a growing library of downloadable games, with new titles added every week," the company said, noting that it is changing the name of its weekly newsletter from Wii-kly Update to Nintendo Download.

Following the system's launch on Friday the DSi Shop, or DSiWare, will offer download-exclusive products to purchase using Nintendo Points.

The Wii Shop Channel gets updated every Friday on this side of the pond, so we can expect new DSi titles ahead of each weekend too.

Nintendo of Japan release a new batch of games/apps every month, this is really the best asset the DSi has.

Agreed, downloadable games is the only reason I'm interested in getting it.
