Capcom: 20-40 PSN games coming soon

PSone and PSP re-releases via PS Store "within next several months"
Capcom has promised a PSN game onslaught, lining up between 20 and 40 titles for release via the PS3 download service.

These games will include a mix of PSone classics - of which there are plenty we'd all love to see in Capcom's back catalogue - and re-releases of previous PSP titles as downloads.

Capcom's Chris Kramer said: "We'll definitely be looking at a lot of titles that have things like Street Fighter and Resident Evil in the title," speaking to Joystiq.

"We're thinking about putting together a long list of the titles we're looking at, and then releasing it on Capcom Unity and having people vote on them. Ultimately we're looking at bringing between 20 and 40 titles to the PSN over the next several months," he added.

Someone needs to give the PSN's PSone games list a boost.

Excellent news and conveniently just in time for the PSP Go! I can't wait to see what they bring.

can i have the original Resident Evils, Final Fights, Strider, UN Squadron, all the Marvel based games, all DarkStalkers games, Ghost and Goblins, Powerstone 1 & 2, Jo-Jo's Bizarre Adventure, Black Tiger, Muscle Bomber, Forgotten Worlds, Onimusha, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Viewtiful Joe and Mercs. surely out of 40 games some of those have got to be in there, sorry if i left anyone else's fav's out.

UN Squadron! My fave shooter from the SNES era. I'd love to see that one come to PSP.

i dusted off Strider for the megadrive this weekend and ended up playing it for hours. that game is still brilliant after all this time. would be good to see it on the PSN.

As an XBox owner.... NOOOOOO00000! Mad

But if very good games are on it then I will have to get a PS3 I guess Rolling Eyes

Its highly unlikely they will bring Snes games out on it as they still havent brought any Snes games on the Wii Virtual Console
Djstar on 5 May '09
What you talking about Djstar? There's six SNES Capcom games on the VC: Breath of Fire II, Super Ghouls and Ghosts, Final Fight and the three Street Fighters games...

Capcom are the king of cash ins when it comes to re-releases. I'd say more so than Nintendo

personally, i find psone games so horrid to look at and play. sticking them on PSN untouched is just lazy. and they still have big borders i think.

even if they do remake games in HD, its another company that does it for them.

I agree, but playing them on a PSP is a world apart. And isn't that the whole point of the PS1 downloadable games?

true they are horrid to look at, but there's still never been a game to beat International Track and Field from PS1. even the sequels couldn't match it. still play that nearly every week with 4 mates. brings back fond memories of France 98

The best thing to do would be to release Monster Hunter as a PSN title. The ps3 would then take over Japan and soon the world. Fully integrated voice chat, decent controls, online play FINALLY, trophies etc

Damn that would rule.

I totally agree, PSONE games are complete s**t going by todays standards, they look awful and play pretty poor too. When they get round to releasing some decent PS2 games like RE 2 and 3 or Outbreak then I'll think about downloading something.

Yeah track and field was one of the best multi player games I've played, I used to spend hours every day playing it with friends back when it came out.
I'll never know how we didn't break the square and circle buttons on the ps pad, especially during the swimming part.

Resi 2 and 3 were released on the ps1 were they not?.

powerstone 1 and 2 please...long live dreamcast, u know there selling them, again now..sega takeover..
are they the world number 2 or 3 publisher, after ea and maybe ubi.

i boycotted both in favour of sega a long time ago. and ea only got to the top by unfair capitalisation, and fifas long 20 year run.

respect to ea recentli for dead space and mirrors edge. new games. not re-hashed sim games year after year.

il have mirrors edge 2 tho please,

ohh the ony ea games i have ever brought

ssx, and nba street for my xbox 1. both brilliant, both ea sports freesytle. a shoot off from ea games main headquarters, in canda, i thnk, although theres branches al over.

Resident evil 2 and 3 are ps1 titles. Was that intentional?

Anywho. Graphics aren't everything. Resident evil 2 is my favourite game ever, and I Own all the resident evil games over playstation platforms. I still play them all from time to time. With the exception of resident evil 5, all of them have pretty average or worse graphics. Look at worms armageddon, s**t graphics. It still rules. Look past graphics, Thats how you get the best out of games.

I never got a chance to play Breath of Fire IV, so I hope they'll do that one.
