Sweet Contra Rebirth shots, date

Konami confirms May release in Japan, no UK date yet
Konami has confirmed that the retro-sweet Contra Rebirth will hit the WiiWare download service on May 12 in Japan.

As you can see by the (disappointingly small) screens on this page, it's a traditional 2D affair, with mental robots and aliens blasting crazy swarms of bullets all over the screen - just the way we like it.

Unfortunately you might be waiting a while for it to reach our Wii Shop, as a Konami UK rep tells CVG this morning that "it isn't dated yet" for us. It looks the part though. Can't wait.

This will deffo be on my list. I still love Contra 3. Music was fantastic. The sooner we get a UK date the better.

Looks crap to be honest. Super Probotector/Contra 3 on the SNES looked better. I wouldn't pay £7 for this. Konami haven't made a decent game since the SNES era except for the Castlevania series and ISS'98 on the N64
