Rockstar has told the world that it's gearing up to unveil the second instalment of Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable content. And in case you haven't been following events, the first one did quite well.
"Details on 2nd episode of GTAIV downloadable content coming soon," said Rockstar via its Twitter. Usually the company doesn't say anything at all, so we feel a bit blessed for this update.
As for a release, we reported a few weeks back that the second Xbox 360-exclusive episode will hit before the end of Take-Two's fiscal year on October 31. Expect that to hold.

GTA IV's debut downloadable content episode, The Lost and Damned, eclipsed all previous downloadable content on Xbox Live to break the service's first-day revenue record. You can probably bet this second lot will do the same too.
Well, according to some leaked info yesterday, it's supposedly called 'Blood & The Four Leaf Clover'.
Mind you, the same leak said that MS would be announcing MGS4 at E3 - so, it's most likely wrong.
Nah, apparently they've called it : 'f**k you PS3 owners'.
But soon PS3 owners will be getting La Nior, if the rumors for this years E3 are to be believed.
I'd heard that R* wont even be at E3 - so, no news on LA Noire (which I can't wait to see more of and will buy a PS3 for if it's exclusive) and no Red Dead Redemption, sadly.
I'd also heard that the GTA4 DLC will be part of MS' speech at E3.
you need your GTA4 disc anyway to play. so you'd need to install the disc to the HDD anyway. a bit pointless unless you dont have a connection.
and i heard rockstar were doing a ps3 exclusive. the rumours were GTA5 because the 360 wont have the storage or la noire.
serve the 360 right if it was GTA5 - for gimping their machines and stealing IV DLC.
I'm just in a pretty bad posotion of not being able to purchase Microsoft Points, that's why I need to buy it on a disc. Then like you said, I would just install the content and voila...
Unless Sony paid big wads of moolah I doubt the next GTA will be an exclusive. And Sony just aren't in the position of throwing money around at the moment.
And as for gimped remark... A tad predictable, mate.

predictable. but no less truthful. an old DVD drive, which dan or sam houser was complaining about AND the lack of guaranteed HDD which they also disliked, i would call gimping. for the purposes of making the system appeal to as many people as possible - i.e. sales. they whored their system out and to hell with across the board functionality. typical MS.
they said MS "had better get creative" concerning storage, as they didnt have enough for their plans. and "our games arent getting any smaller".
nothing about cash-secured exclusivity. just the xbox doesnt have the capacity.

Shouldnt be a problem seeing as 360 can do hard drive installs of games now. I dont see the next GTA being too big to fit on a dvd or as a PS3 exclusive but it would be nice if both consoles got DLC at the same time. Another rumour ive seen was Gamespot speculating PS3 may be getting the Lost and Damned DLC before end of the year.
now that you can install games to the HDD i think the space issue will be a thing of the past. It'll just have to be a HDD only game. How many people do you know that own a 360 without a HDD. There aren't many about, and the ones that do probably wouldn't be interested in games by R* anyway.
Its not a gimped machine it was relased a year and a half before the ps3 and last thing i heard there isn't a ps3 game that uses even a quarter of the space on the blu ray discs anyway.
Surely you can just pop into your local GAME shop and pick up some points..... you don't need a credit card for that!!
I don't think the gta DLC will ever be available on disc... its just not worth the manufacturing costs.....
(although the size of the box my "The lost and damned" dlc points card came in was crazy!!)
Not possible, I live in Greece and there is no Xbox Live here, so you can't go into a shop and buy an Xbox Live subscription or Microsoft Points. And since I don't have a credit card, I can't buy Microsoft Points from the internet either.

you heard wrong then. some games use the dual layer BR's, never mind a single layer 25GB BR.
I read the same rumour about the name an the MGS 360 thing.
Also do you thing sony would really pay Rockstar the millions needed to make an exclusive GTA? GTA4 sold MORE on the 360 about 5million i think so unless Sony could pay for every sale rockstar lose out on its not gonna happen.
Not only that but it seemed there was a massive GTA4 backlash after release which will probably affect sales of the next game.

Yeah, because data is being duplicated many times on the disc to cope with the slow read times on blu-ray.

even if thats the case. the space is being used to their advantage, stop being a baby and always trying to trump everyone.
too much space is better than too little space. twist that.
final fantasy and other games will be using the BR to good effect. 9GB isnt a lot of headroom anymore. a lot of games have had to work round it.
Final Fantasy gets japanese voice overs? Geez, time to whack my 360 on ebay!
It's a bit hypocritical of you to tell Ingy to stop 'trying to trump' everyone. Too much space is better than too little, for sure, but so far only MGS4 apparently uses the extra space... and that's just because it's crammed full of Kojima's waffling story telling guff.
Anyway... why are you in a 360 related thread again?

Wasn't there an article on CVG a few weeks ago about Killzone 2 taking up over 30gb of a Bluray. It's been a while since I did percentages at school but I think 30gb is more that a quarter of 50gb.
the first DLC was a benchmark of how all DLC should be, hopefully they can top that with the second. i would like some of the old side missions like the RS Haul trucking ones from San Andreas brought back just to waste some more time in Liberty City. i do miss those and Saints Row 2's ones just don't have the style to sate me.

have you got a eBay account? you can get them off there pretty cheap and you'd be able to send a cheque or postal order or use a Paypal account..
thanks insettle. Its been a while since i read the tempest. You couldn't post the first act of Dr faustus could you.
I prefer his new tactic, its not being a retarded fanboy and it brings a bit of culture to the site. Bravo insettle.
Whats this talk of an exclusive GTA 5 are you having a laugh. It won't hit untill the next gen of consoles anyway in which case any storage issues MS might have will be long gone. From the interviews i've read with rockstar. it seems we are more likely to see more Dlc for 4 than a new retail game.
It'll be cool if they could intertwine a load of storys around liberty city in a pulp fiction esque way.

Soon enough my friend, when my exams are over, I'll be at the beach every day.
