One of Microsoft's worst kept secrets, Forza Motorsport 3, has seemingly leaked yet again, via an internet listing for its official strategy guide.
The Forza Motorsport 3 Prima game guide appeared on Amazon.de today, and it's the latest leak pointing to a surely inevitable reveal at Microsoft's E3 press conference next month.
The listing follows the first official glimpse of the game via a slide that appeared during a Microsoft Brazil press briefing (skip to 6:58 in the video below).
The third instalment in the Turn 10 racing series is far from a secret though, as details on the game were leaked last summer, followed by yet another leak earlier this year with artwork from the game.
According to the smuggled details, Forza 3 will include over 100 tracks and 400 cars on a two-disc set. E3, here we come...
Whilst MS's policy of not announcing games years in advance is admirable, it doesn't always work! Still, I'm grateful for the leaks and will be getting this.

Me too. I think this is one of those exceedingly rare games that you can guarantee will be good - Forza 2 was superb, I bought it purely to test out the customisation features (for about £5, I think) and ended up hooked...great gameplay, brilliant on Live and provides a decent challenge - bring it on!
I'm a big fan of Forza 2, although it is lacking in some areas. Could use some off-road or rallycross tracks to make the WRC-spec cars worth using.
And the career mode was a little repetitive. Used the same track configs too often. Felt a little aimless too, since other than buying a suitable car there was no feeling of struggling to reach the next tier of racing. Should've started with racing slower cars and worked up to the big R1s as you gained reputation and the like.
Of course I'd also like to see sponsor negotiation added to games like this, but that might not suit too many other people
bizaree creations, are better with project gotham..its always been better
hell, msr, is betetr, the origonal, by bizare. ..
anyone sen powered by windows ce..on their dreamcast, hell, anyone seen the dream cast dev kit, its a pc. with controller slots. excelent.
lastly.. forza is gonan get trumped in this case ....badly...by gran turismo which has double the amout of cars , and 4 less tracks, but all reversable.. (96) (times 2 makes 192, but we wont count them really..will we..) double the cars though.

I agree with your points with the exception of a Rally mode. I hate those games with a passion, although I'll give the original Sega Rally a pass (I know it's not a true Rally game!).

ohh 1 disk..yes please.
Yeah, but one thing that Forza 3 will have over GT is a release date. I have nothing against GT, but you have to wonder why it takes them so long to get it finished? - supposedly, there have been 3 Forza games since the last full GT. That's just not good enough.
I've never really liked the PGR games either - they look great, but I never really get any excitement out of them in the same way that I do Forza....obviously, this is purely my opinion.
Oh - and MSR was a terrible game...absolutely no feeling of speed whatsoever. The Dreamcast had some amazing games, but that really wasn't one of them - Daytona was king of the racers there.
That's a Sony fanboy boasting about the amount of data they can fit on a single Blu-ray disc.
Quite where he got all his GT5 "facts" from is anyone's guess since the devs aren't really forthcoming with official info. I expect he's got fanforumitis though, and it's clouding his view of reality.
I can appreciate that not everyone wants to do rally driving, but it'd be nice if you had the option to specialise and rank up in whatever area you wanted. So maybe tin-top fans get A-spec cars for that series while rally fans could go WRC. Open-wheel fans could go F3000 or something. Could be the most detailed and customisable racing sim ever made!
Can anyone tell me if the official WRC game is in the works for the PS3? l'm currently enjoying evolved on my ps2 and would love to see a PS3 version,l'm drooling over how fab it could look ,if not then Dirt 2 will fill the gap.

but since you all love disc swapping, you should be in your element.
You know, I think I might actually be brought to tears when I have to break my game for a couple of seconds to stretch my arm and put it in the disc tray. I might actually have to get up off my sofa to do it, as well. Oh the humanity.

you must have square eyes if you can reach the tray from your sitting position.... or a really miniscule tv.
in any case, you people love this stuff. so no big deal is it.
still doesnt hide the fact the technology is getting really dated.

its easy to knock features you dont have.
I find it quite pathetic that you have to resort to insulting me on the size of my TV in response.
My sarcasm is just pointing out that your argument is moot. The idea of swapping discs really doesn't bother me. Would I prefer not to? Of course. But if it's not costing me any more to do it, then me getting up, walking to the console and swapping the disc (as I would do if I were changing to a new game), then I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
And the time I spend replacing the disc is going to save in the loading time of a standard DVD compared with blu-ray. That's not a fanboy notion of any kind, it's just fact. Even moreso on games of the size we are talking about here.
And then there's the premium I would have had to pay to get a blu-ray enabled console in the first place.
If only there was some way of installing the disc to the HD....
Exactly. Seems to have gone over a lot of people's heads.
Doesn't a lot of games on the PS3's Blu-ray disc need a compulsory HDD install due to its slow access speed. So there's not a lot of difference by doing the same on the 360.

so now the console is 'within' walking distance?
wasnt knocking your telly haha but you say you were able to change disc without even standing up, which was obviously bull and intended to give the illusion that disc swapping is no bother. which it is.
especially when your mid-game, engrossed then you need to f**k about. thats much worse than changing the disc when you've finished one game and are looking for another.
id rather stay put, wait that extra 2 seconds a BR takes to load than have to get up and swap discs around.
and the "premium" you pay for the ps3 is for a better quality product. its worth the extra for the low noise pollution alone.
Perhaps we should wait and see if the 2 disk rumour has any substance before discussing the practicality of it?
I honestly don't see why it would need to be 2 disks unless the art production really has gone through the roof.
When you consider race games don't generally use streaming within any particular race or track, that means 8 to 12 cars and the environment loaded at once, in 512 MB. Assuming 300 MB for the meat of that graphics data, an 8 GB disk offers about 26 times that capacity. So, you should really be able to get 26 unique full tracks, and about 312 unique cars on a DVD. This isn't even allowing for compression, which should be able to double those totals, and then a lot of track configurations / cars models aren't actually unique either.
It's easy to say DVD is "old technology", but 8+ GB of data really should be plenty for a game of this type.
Turn 10 denied the 2-disc rule ages ago, but I don't have a problem with it. Single player on one disc, multiplayer on another. Means you can get totally unique content and more detail in each area.
Sadly I don't have the space on my 20Gb drive to store the game data, otherwise I would do. That said, I have a couple of Gb taken up with Forza 2 stuff which I guess I won't need any more
