THQ plans global restructure

Core, casual and online business units formed
THQ has reorganised its global management team around three new business units for the company's core, casual and online games.

Three key executives have been promoted to manage each of these units, reporting directly to THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell.

As executive VP of Core Games, Danny Bilson will oversee production and marketing across THQ's core gaming portfolio, which includes action, shooter, strategy, racing and fighting titles. He was formerly senior VP of creative development for the publisher.

Most recently a senior VP, Doug Clemmer has been appointed executive VP of Kids, Family and Casual Games, which includes console, PC and wireless titles targeted at mass market gamers.

Steve Dauterman, previously senior VP of product development, has been named senior VP of Online. He'll oversee all online initiatives and assist fellow business unit leaders in achieving their online objectives.

In addition, international executive VP Ian Curran has been promoted to executive VP of global publishing. He'll be responsible for THQ's worldwide revenue.

"The new structure specifically aligns our primary business units with our product strategy, enabling each team to focus on planning and execution in highly defined product areas with full profit and loss responsibility," said Farrell.

I don't think it is needed, but if they want to waste money making a restructure, thats okay with me, ..just dont go crying to people for loans, when you decided to restructure during a recession -.-

Wow sounds like a pretty good set up to me. Let us hope they continue bringing us with quality games, especially after this re-organisation!

You can re-organize turds and they're still turds.
THQ will forever be a s**t games company.

I thought Dawn of War was pretty good.

Maybe they'll use the money from the shovelware department and the cash-grubbing department to fund the good game department.

Once or twice they release the odd half decent game. On the whole though, they have never been any good.
