We respect the fact that Gran Turismo 5 will have a billion cars, each made with a trillion polygons and all that. Great. But when will we get to play the damn game? The producer, Kazunori Yamauchi will tell us "soon", apparently.

The game is expected out next year, but exactly when is anyone's guess. When quizzed recently on the game's release, Yamauchi said: "We made the announcement today that [the handheld game player PSP GO] is coming out Oct. 1 [with Gran Turismo 5 on it]. We will give the release date of the Gran Turismo 5 soon."
We think he meant that PSP Go will be out on October 1 with Gran Turismo PSP on it, which looks swell, by the way.
Fingers crossed the PS3 game will get an early 2010 release.
They've already said that they can release it pretty much anytime they want - I'd figure that Sony would want this out for the Christmas market...it's a guaranteed big-seller.
GT5 has been "coming soon" for years now. No matter how good the game is it wont live up to the hype, i also doubt it will be better than forza 3, it certainly wont be so far ahead of it to justify the ridiculous production time.
What the hell brought that up? Most of all- who cares?
For all the polygons that go into this game I just hope they remember to make it- well... fun. Pretty graphics will only get a game so far (Hi Killzone 2!) It's going to have to be something really special to stand out of the crowd- especially after this wait, surely?
no because its dirt cheap and its affordable on a paper run.
anyone holding out for a 360 would get laughed at. it isnt even interesting anymore. this christmas you'll see it going way downhill. sorry to inform you that about your prize possesion, but it was bound to happen.
sony werent cutting prices like desperados - now the 360 is severely devalued and seems to the outsider (and insider) as an inferior product.
Seeing as you had to have a dig at the Xbox, completely unnecessarily, I need to ask, what makes you think anyone's holding out for a PS3? You say 'FACT IS...", ok fair enough, you seem to know something most of us don't, so can you point me in the direction of this fact? Or do you just make up facts to suit your sad devotion to a dying console? Your BS is becoming quite pathetic. And sorry to have to point out the obvious, but Sony are never going to dominate this generation. If console history has taught us anything, it's that the most powerful machine doesn't guarantee the greatest sales, and that the market leader eventually falls. And the PS has taken quite a fall. As more and more past Sony-exclusive titles become available for the 360 I can't help but wonder when GT will be follow suit. It's only a matter of time.

Find it interesting how the PS3 crowd seems to think that if the Playstation was to get more sales this christmas, that somehow makes them the dominant one, when since this console generation began, the Xbox has been ahead from overall console sales, most best-selling versions of a game on both systems etc. But i degress.
To the game, im sure it will be good fun, but i havnt brought into the hype and think it will not live up to the hype its got, but still be worth a go on my console.

stupid microsoft. cant contain themselves.
What happens if it doesnt, what happens if the 360 and the Wii continue to out perform the PS3? You seem to be pretty sure of yourself condsidering your 'guessing' at what you think might happen, it makes you almost sound like an analyst.
We all know what the majority think of analysts on this site, do you?

I personally don't think it'll be out till next spring, it makes their comment about being able to release it whenever they want all the more cheeky if it turns out to be true, at least we'll definately have forza this year. I'm expecting great things from both.
Fact is... I didn't hold off for a PS3, and found myself £300 shorter with very little to show for it. Even now my Xbox gets 99% o my play time.
Why would anyone need to hold off for a 360? It's affordable! It's got a cracking back catalogue, some sweet upcoming exclusives and an awesome community on Live.
Fact is, PS3 is not strong enough to lure people into paying that kind of money. If it was, I doubt anyone would 'hold off', because it would be considered a sound investment.
Will it sell more when the price drops? Most likely. But to keep the sales up after the initial rush, it's going to need some juicy carrots to dangle in front of it's userbase. GT5 is one, GoW3 another (though I personally think it looks poor, given the hype), and The Last Guardian is my most wanted title full stop, but aside from the odd title here and there, PS3 just isn't holding a candle to what Microsoft has going on right now.

You can ask HITMANBAZZA for explanations, but he won't hear you.
He only ever surfaces from the bottom of the pond to spew Sony stroking fan boy nonsense all over this forum, most of which is incomprehensible (therefore congratulations are due, however now perhaps work on making valid points). Once he is done defiling the place, he sinks back into the murky depths where he will wait, filtering the sludge, far below where the light can't reach, until such a time as another CVG fanboy baiting article appears...

And that my friend, is a FACT.
why thank you for voicing your opinion which must be very strong if you had to post it 3 times. now why does this have to become another console argument? personally i am comparing forza and GT as games (doesnt freakin matter where they are).
now i am absolutely sick of hearing the PS3 (and believe it or not the PSP) has no games. i like to think its just pure ignorance of the system(s) but it may be more of a psychotic loyalty to MS for some reason.
Sleepaphobic, there's only one person who can answer why these forums turn into PS vs 360 arguments... and he's a blindless devoted PS3 fan. Can you guess who?
Yes sleepophobic, of course I thought my post was so awesome I posted it 3 times. Nothing to do with the occasional wobble on the site or anything.
This is a forum mate. You know, where you post opinions? My 'opinion' incidentally was a response to a previous post.
I didn't say the PS3 had no games. I said going forwards they are going to need more that what they currently have to keep sales going after a price drop. Just to clarify, I have had a PS3 for about a year and a half, and I am speaking from my own experience. Personally I want to see the PS3 do well. I want a return on that investment.
So, I would suggest before you commit to flaming someone, you just make sure you actually read what they were saying first.
lol it is always that grasshopper that starts arguements cause he is a sad freak who has nothing better to do, i wish cvg administrators would give him a warning or boot him off for good lol oh i found out what the "SVD" part means SONYS VIRGIN DEPARTMENT

Jeez...
well this is totally subjective but i believe the PS3 has a better line up (going from ur 1st post here) for the future and has a very good current line up. thinking of games on the 360 that i have really enjoyed i can only come up with dead rising and uhhh, thats abt it ( i really hope im missing smthg here) but I still have to play fable 2, star ocean and tales of vesperia which hopefully i can add to that very lonely list.
Well Sleepaphobic, if you're waiting to play those games it's no wonder you're not a 360 fan. They're all s**te. You should try Gears of War 2, see if that puts a bat up your nightdress. Honestly though, recently the best games have been multiplatform anyway, so it really doesn't matter what console you have.

I've honestly no idea why this is not said more often on these forums.
FILMFLAM I have to say its hugely entertaining reading your little articles. You clearly our very worried about the mighty PS3 taking over!! Roll on GT5 which will soar past any of the weak ring of death monkey bottom of a machines great (Pah) catolgue of games!!

yes that is true most great games are multiplatform so its strange when people say they love a certain system due to a selection of games but those very same games are on bloody other platforms.
+ i have played gears of war 2 and found it very disappointing, definitely a step down from the 1st one, which itself was not that great. same for gaiden 2 (the sole reason i bought a 360), it was a huge step backwards from the great original.
i am open to suggestions coz i kind of want to use the damn machine once in a while but plz for the love of god dont say halo.

Do you mean exclusives?
I'd have to recommend Mass Effect (if you haven't already played it) - the reviews certainly picked up on some faults, but the game is so good you just don't notice them. Plus, the sequel is coming very soon.

ya exclusves are what im after and mass effect is a great game (hope they fix those vehicle sections) but i have it for PC. that seems to be the problem for me, most games for 360 are on the PC and are always better there so i hit a brick wall. was totally waiting for splinter cell on 360 but i found out not so long ago tht its on PC too.
HITMAN BAZZA u are a disgrace to sony u chav go collect ur benifets rofl
and sleepahobic ur a classic sony fanboy that claims he has played these games just to try and put people off them not working mate 360 has some great exclusives coming up such as splinter cell and alan wake
I hope it ends up being good, not that I'm that interested in it, but when a game has been in development as long as this has, it would seem a complete and utter waste of time if it turned out to be average, or even poor.
Hehe, some of the posts on here do make me laugh! People giving their thoughts and trying to pass them off as 'Facts'!
Anyway back on topic, I actually do think Sony will see a great return from this game. GT has a really large fan-base and the PS3 is starting to find its stride now and has been quickly closing the gap between PS3 sales and 360 sales. (I use www.vgchartz.com to measure sales figures over time). I also don't think people will be dissapointed by GT5 either. Prolouge was a good show but GT5 looks like it has had a lot of love and care put into it. What with WRC and Nascar plus all the normal GT stuff, it looks like it really will be a great complete driving package.

in all honousty i prefer the PC over any console. ok now if you dont believe me then you can check the few achievements i have for these games, my gamertag is the same as here (i am assuming you can do that coz i dont know how live works that well). and as i was just saying i was looking forward to splinter cell but now its on the PC. why would i pay more for the inferior version? makes 0 sense.
milky joe: when has a GT been just average? it will be worth the wait. i may even for the first time buy a wheel for it.

I must admit - I've always found the console versions of Splinter Cell to be better.
If I recall correctly, there's no lock-picking mini game on the PC version (for example).

i am almost certain there was lock picking in chaos theory on the PC. cant remember for the others though
Ah, Chaos Theory definitely could have had that (I've never tried that on PC) - I know that the first one didn't though....it seems to stick in my memory because I was shocked that the PC version was compromised compared to it's console version - how often does that happen?

well thats my take, make of it as you will.
owning a 360 and ps3 i prefer the ps3s lineup more, games are better imo, only exclusives i have for 360 is halo 3 id say mass effect aswell but thats on pc, next ones ill be gettin for 360 is splinter cell, halo 3 odst and mabey forza 3, for ps3 i can count loads im getting
the 360s ones just dont interest me as much, gears 2 i thought was the biggest pile of s**te ever (still prefer the first) only other 360 games ill have is viva pinata id say ng 2 but thats commin to ps3 now with loads of extras and improvements, rest of the games i get for 360 are multiplat, glad it can satisfy me in that department

ok damn you man! now im craving to play chaos theory again ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
and do you really think michael is the stig or it was just some kind of stunt? anyways putting up the stigs ghost car will just show us (very brutally) how much we suck

C'mon of course it was a stunt, do you really think Schumi would come to a little test track in Britain every week to drive a few cars around?, I'm guessing that Ferrari wouldn't allow the real Stig to drive the car or maybe sent Schumacher over to publicise the car for them
I'm surprised to see an article about a PS3 game with so many Xbox owners commenting on it. I thought that didn't happen on this site.
Anyway, big GT5 preview in the next OPM, wouldn't be surprised to see a release date then. Have to say some of the reports about it are impressive. 800+ cars, 90+ tracks, track designer etc. Lets see what turns out to be true.
Nah, Schumacher wasn't really the Stig. Watch the next F1 driver come in dressed in the Stig's overalls. That'd be funny. Especially if it was Nakajima (my fav f1 driver).
DOREEN2011 I called you Doreen for a reason you are a big girls blouse. You have no games to make me envious, I just feel sorry for you. You talk about claiming benefits when you are probably first in the dole line every week, then spending your dole money on knock off xbox games!!
It really doesn't matter when GT5 will be released and how many cars and tracks it might have, unless it has dramatically changed since Prologue then it will just be laughable.
For anyone that thinks any GT has ever been 'realistic' or a 'simulator' in any way, shape or form could possibly comment on these for me.
Total lack of speed. Every car sounding the same (and the stupid tyre squealing noise) No difference in handling between front wheel/rear wheel drive cars. Collision detection Damage Tracks that are way too 'clean' Multiplayer balancing/punishments
....to name but a few.
Almost every other driving game on PS3/360 and PC is more realistic than any GT game has ever been. The worst thing is that all the points above were never changed or improved from the original GT through to GT4. Let's hope GT5 gets it right for the first time ever.
I'm a PS3 owner but I'm just not that bothered about this game! I loved it on PS1, the PS2 version looked amazing but felt it was just the same as 1 with tarted graphics and now I have played prologue but its history repeating itself. IMHO, Race Driver grid is superior to GT5 (Prologue at least) in every way aside from the graphics (which are still pretty damn amazing btw) and I feel I just won't need to buy GT5. Maybe its just me...
As I said before I want PS3 to do well, I spent a fair bit of my hard earned on that bad boy and would very much like to be a multi-console man again. Previous generations going all the way back to the 8 bit era, all of which I still own, I have had all the consoles and played each of them fairly evenly. This generation is the first where just one console has seen the majority of my play time focused on it, and that is my 360.
The normal arguements about 'my console is better than yours' (which isn't what it's about, at all) aside, perhaps someone can tell me why PS3 upcoming line up is 'better' than 360's? I'm beginning to think that I have missed something crucial. All I know is, above everything else, I want The Last Guardian. I am however genuinely interested to know what other people are looking forward to.
