SCE expands peripherals licensing business

Sony has expanded its Official Licence Program to third party peripheral manufacturers in Japan, Asia, North America and Europe/ PAL territories.

The firm aims to "further enhance the PlayStation peripheral and accessory line-ups". So more controllers that you force your mate to use are on the way, then.

"By entering into a license agreement with SCE through this program, peripheral and accessory manufacturers will gain access to technical documentations necessary for designing and creating variety of licensed products for PlayStation platforms including PSP, PS3 and PS2," says Sony.

Products that hit Sony's "standards and requirements" will then be able to carry an official licensed product logo. Hopefully an analogue stick that doesn't fall off is one of those requirements.
