Actual real life DJ hero, Grandmaster Flash, has told Rolling Stone that DJ Hero will be the "most popular thing to do in gaming on the planet."
The old skool DJ has been involved with the game for over a year now and has contributed in all areas from mixes, voiceovers to type of language to use. We hope it's in English.
The confirmed track list has also grown:
David Bowie - "Lets Dance" vs. KRS-1 - "Jack Of Spades" Nirvana - "All Apologies" vs. Rick James - "Give It To Me" Zombies - "Time Of The Season" vs. Chuck Brown - "Bustin Loose" Grandmaster Flash - "Here Comes My DJ" vs. Gary Numan - "Cars" Herbie Hancock - "Rockit" vs. N.E.R.D. - "Lapdance" Jay Z - "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)" vs. Eminem - "My Name Is" Marvin Gaye - "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" vs. Gorillaz - "Feel Good Inc" Dizzee Rascal - "Fix Up, Look Sharp' vs. Justice - "Genesis" Gwen Stefani - "Hollaback Girl' vs. Rick James - "Give It To Me" Jurassic 5 - "Jayou" vs. Herbie Hancock - "Rockit" Tears for Fears - "Shout' vs. Eric Prydz - "Pjanoo (Radio Edit)" Black Eyed Peas - "Boom Boom Pow' vs. Benni Benassi - "Satisfaction" Beastie Boys - "Sabotage" vs. Foo Fighters - "Monkey Wrench"
If you're mad about Grandmaster Flash, then you might like to throw OXM a few questions as they'll be interviewing him soon.
hmmmmm, am i the only one here who thinks dj hero would have, you know, smthg relating electronic music? smthg like techno, trance, house etc.
i dont really care for this game as if i want 2 dj i'll hop onto my mixer and use all the tracks that EA has never even heard of but it seems kind of misleading for other people who may be expecting proper edm, at least that was what i think.
as i always say: if you're listening to hip hop you're not clubbing.

Are you trying to say Hip-Hop isn't club music? You might need to step out of your bubble.
hip-hop is POP MUSIC. it dominates the charts and is mainly bought by teenage girls.
real djs spin underground music.
did i insult your fave 'fiddy'. f**kin wee bastard!
Joker, my "fave" is probably MF Doom at this point in time. I've yet to come across a genre that hasn't been commercialised, even your beloved Techno/Trance. Fact is, Hip-Hop has an underground scene as well as the pop s**t. Takes more skill too before you can call yourself a good DJ.

well sure it can be. but then ive been to so called clubs which had metal, punk, lounge and even jazz. would you say these are forms of club music?
you are right abt every genre in some sense becoming commercial. trance has gone the house route and become downright disgusting lately but techno (more so the minimal side) is still as underground as can be. I am sure there are much better forms of hip hop etc but that genre in general as well as most forms of music are commercial by nature.
why do the best/most famous clubs in the world play edm? why are the longest, most insane parties usually tied to a form of electronic music?
name a commerical techno tune thats been in the charts... love to hear this.
or even what your interpretation of what is techno...
talking to a few people it is very strange to know what people pass as techno. there was a time when all forms of edm were classified by the majority of people as only techno or house. not much has changed, this is a tell tale sign that shows tht most forms of edm are in a very healthy state.
drax! was playing that today in my car would you believe. quite acidic.
it is commercial coz its hard techno. thats very old school stuff man and over the course of 10-20 years you would think a sound would get some sort of mainstream appeal. if you want to enter the world of current techno check out some of ahmed sendil's stuff (he usually pumps out good stuff) or even better lets go minimal and try out some gaiser, then we'll talk.
When this first got announced I was interested, but the s**t soundtrack has put me off. Get some proper music and then I'll think about it. And definetly NO Dizzee Rascal, can't stand that f**king t**t!
