Tecmo Koei president Kenji Matsubara doubts the hardcore appeal of Sony's new motion controllers and Microsoft's Project Natal technology, saying they will be "more suited to casual games".
"We are very excited about the future with Project Natal and Sony's motion controllers. At the same time, we have some concerns over the fact that we specialise in making action games, so we have to explore whether we can achieve real-time response from a controller-free system," Matsubara told CVG.

"We understand that, for casual gamers playing dance games or some sort of fishing game, this controller-free system can be popular. But for hardcore gamers who like actions games, we have to research and develop games that satisfy our core gamers," he added.
"I expect that, from the beginning, both these types of controls will be more suited to casual games, and later go into more hardcore oriented experiences. That's how, in my understanding, most companies' strategies will apply."
Sony confirmed it will show more of its motion tech at the Develop Conference, which runs from July 14-16.
when they make a decent game i might take note of their opinions
Isn't this the same company that does Ninja Gaiden & Dead or Alive? Pretty decent IMO.
Gaiden is average, Dead or Alive is poor compared to soul calibur, sf4 or tekken games. Only my opinion though. I love breasts so DoA gets points there, any game with breast size settings = win
These new motion controls are just a knee jerk reaction to Nintendo taking so much cash from Sony and Microsoft. I know that its got depth perception and other bells but i dont think I could see myself playing any FPS or as the artical said action games. I'm one of the old skool that enjoys resting in a big seat for hours on end moving only my eyes and fingers to the flashing images on the T.V. But while Sony and Microsoft are playing catchup or advancing the idea I'm sure that Nintendo are toiling away with something brand new. Who knows, Nintendo might launch the most powerful console ever seen!!
Nintendo expanded on Sony's eye toy idea, pity Sony didn't realise the potential cash to be made from this part time gamer idea and make a next gen console with slightly better PS2 style graphics.
Just think, Sony couldve released endless amounts of money making gimmicks (as far flung from original mainstream current gen games) as Wii's current line up, Wii Darts, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Carnival, Wii Party Games etc etc etc etc. Nintendo leading inovation? Yeah, sure.
Natal is an advancement on eye toy, move you arms to control on screen game actions? Yup, done yesteryear.
Sonys extension of eye toy is the most interesting, the way they demonstrated the movement around the room in FPS was impressive and that bow an arrow demo! Early days but Sony offers the most potential, unless you want to hold a plate or hat in Forza 5 via Natal lol
