Time-shifting shooter, Singularity has seen a delay to the beginning of next year - and it's all thanks to Modern Warfare 2.
Activision has said that the Raven-developed FPS has been pushed backed so that it can dodge the Modern Warfare "excitement" (and probably sell a few copies).
"The level of excitement for Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 coming out of E3 well exceeded our expectations and therefore we have decided to move Raven's upcoming sci-fi first person action title, Singularity, from 2009 to Q1 2010," an Activision spokesperson told GameSpot.

"We believe that the March quarter will provide a better opportunity to establish the new cutting-edge action IP as a 'must-have' title and clears the way for Modern Warfare 2 to dominate this holiday season."
Probably a wise move that. Then again, now it's going up against Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake and whatever else decides to bail out of the Christmas massacre. Those time powers would come in handy in the publishing world...
I doubt it will be up against Alan Wake, There is more chance Duke Nukem Forever will be released before Alan Wake ever is!
I very much doubt that considering DNF was in developement 12+ years and all we ever saw from the 'final' version was a few CGI teaser trailers and some behind closed doors gameplay. At least we saw actual gameplay of AW at E3 and got a more 'definite' release
Probably a wise move - not to mention the fact that MAG is out too.
I don't think that there is ever a good time to release a new IP, especially in the next 12 months. Not only are Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake going to be massive hits, but GOWIII and GT5 will be vying for big sales too.
I'd put Singularity in the Heavy Rain camp, i.e, it looks really good but could struggle to make a big splash.
It's on my radar at least as I like the look of it. Seems a bit different to the norm.
I can't wait for winter to come along, the line up of games is simply awesome. Modern warfare 2 is going to be the best damn FPS of the last ten years.
I just laugh at these FPSs, trying to get a piece of the market. They're up against real heavyweights like COD and... COD. Even when a FPS tries to be different - Shellshock 2, the one set in Vietnam, they end up being either pathetically rubbish, or just a poor mans COD. COD rules the FPS market, there's no getting away from it. A bit sad really, I like many different FPSs, but COD is just swallowing everything up before it like a particularly hungry vaccum cleaner.
