Conduit dev "messing about" with MotionPlus

"The full potential is still yet to be seen"
Conduit dev High Voltage says it's been "messing about" with Wii MotionPlus and that the full potential of the peripheral "is still yet to be seen".

Speaking in an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, producer Cameron Rains said he's "all about accessible gameplay and Wii MotionPlus is a further step in that direction.

"We've been messing about. At the moment you see all the stuff from EA and other companies concentrating a lot on the sports genre. The full potential is still yet to be seen but it won't be long in coming," he said.

"Whenever you see new equipment and tools to play with, that just opens up the door for all kinds of creative new ideas. I'm sure we'll see in the next year some really cool stuff coming out on the Wii that could only work with Wii MotionPlus."

It's quite depressing, HVS.
They seem like nice guys in all the interviews, and it's evident that they put a lot into their games.

I just can't bring myself to buy something that gets so average reviews, and doesn't perform. I may buy it when it gets (drastically) reduced.

I'll reserve judgement till I've played The Conduit myself, but it all looks so bland and generic. - I really do commend them for trying to push the system on a technical level, but it's all they've spouted on about for months. What about the actual gameplay?

For me, the multiplayer is what I am going to be judging the game mostly on, as that will be the main reason for adding longevity to it.

They could always lease the engine out to other companies to see what they can do with it also, I guess.

Well I've got the Conduit and no matter what the reviews say its a great game the multiplayer rocks. Its what the Wii needs. So go get it.

I wouldn't pay much attention to the reviews, it's been harshly reviewed imo. The cntrol and HUD customisation, visual effects and the multiplayer alone warrant it a score of at least 8/10.

True, you can play it as an old-school run and gun shooter but if you take the time to explore and search for the hidden items such as radios, alien text and data discs you'll see that there's plenty of replay value. There's no way that you're going to find everything after one playthrough.

The multiplayer though is where it's at. I haven't had so much fun online since I played the PC SKU of Halo 1 many years ago. Very addictive and a great deal of fun. Very heavily Halo influenced so if you enjoy Halo online then you'll love it. The only thing missing from the multiplayer is the use of vehicles, but the way that the Quantum3 engine is progressing expect them in the sequel. Very Happy
